If I specifically choose Islay, it's because they have peat, which is not common elsewhere

Peat extraction is quite controversial subject on Islay. I prefer the non-peated varieties myself - some of the heavily peated stuff tastes like someone's dropped a bottle of drain cleaner into a muddy puddle. You can now call me philistine.
