Third Booster Jab Thread
Thread for the saved who've had their third jab. Post your survivors guilt here. Or any sociopathy of the fortunate if you feel inclined.

Third booster? Gi's a break, Scrumple. I won't be getting my first booster until early March.

Mid March for me, mid April for Bron, unless they decide to reduce the interval further...

Re: Third Booster Jab Thread
No survivor's guilt yet, I had my shot yesterday, and I've been totally pooped since, even the first jab did not play such havoc on me.
and I might or might not survive, since I'm in such deep depression that I just might lie down and cry myself to death.

Re: Third Booster Jab Thread
Maybe I would, but my life is so sad and empty of what counts... What used to be the pleasures of my life have gone empty, tasteless, because what I basically need for my life to be more or less happy and meaningful, it's not there, I can't find it... I know what it is, Just that I can't get it.
and that makes me sad enough that I'm just tired of it all.

Got my booster 6 hours ago! No reaction of any kind as of yet, same as with the other two shots. Tomorrow I get my Shingrix shot.

It happens to us all. Hedonism is a young man's game anyway. I take pleasure in the small things now: the contented smile of a child at play, the faint scent of blossom on a warm spring breeze, passing a stool without having to break a sweat...Svartalf wrote:Maybe I would, but my life is so sad and empty of what counts... Re: Third Booster Jab Thread
Well, part of the problem is that I could not indulge in that game when I was younger, at least not enough to be able to tell myself now that I have had a life full of good things, and if I can't enjoy all of them anymyore, it's still enough to face old age on a firm footing and an equanimous mind.
My life has been a succession of failures and, to speak mildly, disappointments, for a looooong time, and the perspective that it might now be too late to improve things and be able to face old age contentedly is driving me to black and utter despair.

Contendly is bound to be on a spectrum. You're not alone.

The latest fad is a poverty social. Every woman must wear calico,
and every man his old clothes. In addition each is fined 25 cents if
he or she does not have a patch on his or her clothing. If these
parties become a regular thing, says an exchange, won't there be
a good chance for newspaper men to shine?

I hear you Svarty. The right medication and some luck with crypto have me thinking I might have an ok old age now. Very different from only 2 or 3 years ago.

Well, I just wonder if the right medication exists, I've tried so many over the years, and I'm still there, still having a hard time rising from my bed because nothing is worth the pain (except when I need to eat, drink, or go to the toilet, because being miserable is one thing, letting oneself starve and other, and wetting one's bed because one's too silly to go take a wee yet another)

A mate of mine once said "life is a series of small disappoints, culminating in death". He wasn't wrong.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.
Re: Third Booster Jab Thread
Svarty if you can pseudoephridine that will lift your energy and spirits.
Celebrex can realllly make your aches and pains go away.
I feel the same at times but I'm still mostly enjoying life at 74 and having fun on the motorcycle, watching movies and running the business tho the latter is tapering down. It's certainly not due to my natural state....family history of despression and have to fight it.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8152226/
Without the two drugs above tho I'd have a hard time.
Pseudo you might have a hard time finding on its own but it is available, does work and I've been taking for 40 years despite the scare tactics out there it's. It's a precursor to meth and to several anti-depressents - 60 mg works the charm ( and clears your sinuses of allergy stuff ups ).
Celebrex is magical...likely prescription and highly recommended. I don't need it every day ...kills my sciatica and torn rotator cuff for a day.
Works the charm.
Otherwise 650 mg x 2 arthitis meds twice a day keeps the aches away.
I take this twice a day ....a third if the weather is low pressure
