Donald Trump’s Friday online freakout about the 2022 midterms contained a positively hilarious typo.

“They stole the Electron from Blake Masters. Do Election over again!” the former president ranted on his Truth Social platform after GOP candidate Masters lost to Democratic Sen. Mark Kelly in the Arizona Senate race.

After Oz and Walker, third big fish about to escape Trump:
Lake, a former television newscaster who surged to the GOP nomination in August after being endorsed by former president Donald Trump, picked up about 8,900 votes on Sunday — but still trails Hobbs by more than 26,000 votes.

There are an estimated 160,000 early ballots left to be counted across Arizona, though most of those are from the urban centers of Maricopa and Pima counties. Some 94,000 ballots remain in Maricopa County, while another nearly 39,000 remain in Pima County. Almost all of those ballots have been verified and are ready for tabulation.
Lake needs to win more than 58% of the remaining ballots.

Bible man reduced to one joke.
Though Mike Pence had first disclosed his rule to The Hill in 2002, soon after he was elected to Congress, the revelations received national news coverage in a 2017 Washington Post profile about second lady Karen Pence, which resurfaced his remarks. Numerous commentary followed, much of it accusing Mike Pence of disadvantaging women's careers.

Mike Pence wrote in his new book, "So Help Me God," out Tuesday, that he was self-conscious heading into the White House after the Washington Post story published because he didn't want to "create controversy for the administration" and he didn't know how Trump would react. He was surprised to find Trump laughing about it.

"Can you believe it? After all they've said about me, now they are attacking Mike for being faithful to his wife!" Trump told those who'd gathered for the intelligence briefing that morning.

PALM BEACH, Fla., Nov 15 (Reuters) - Donald Trump was set to launch a new White House bid on Tuesday from a gilt-edged ballroom at his Florida resort, hoping to box out potential Republican rivals and return his false claims of election fraud to the center of U.S. politics.

Trump's announcement, scheduled for 9 p.m. ET (0200 GMT on Wednesday) at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach follows a disappointing showing in last week's midterm congressional elections that many Republicans blame on him.

I think Trump is smarter than they say. He's going to surprise everyone by announcing a run for House speaker.

CNBC
Now that Trump is officially Biden’s political opponent in the 2024 election, Attorney General Merrick Garland will need to decide whether to appoint a special counsel to take over the daily management of the Trump investigations. This could help to create even more distance between Biden appointees like Garland in the upper echelons of the Justice Department and any potential decisions about whether to charge Trump with a crime.

Trump's 2024 bid hit with immediate challenge from group behind 'disqualification clause' lawsuits

Free Speech For People and Mi Familia Vota are launching a campaign via TrumpIsDisqualified.org to urge secretaries of state and other chief elections officials to bar the former president from running for office under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, known as the disqualification clause.

None of the organization's past suits have resulted in an elected official being barred from office.

The legal challenge that went the furthest was against Greene, resulting in a hearing at which she testified before an administrative law judge in Georgia ruled that she could stay on the ballot.

There has been only one case where an elected official directly associated with the attack on the Capitol has been stopped from serving in public office on the grounds of the disqualification clause.

A New Mexico federal judge barred Otero County commissioner and "Cowboys for Trump" founder Couy Griffin from office, citing the disqualification clause -- the only time in 150 years that the provision has been used to disqualify an official and the first time that a court ruled the events of Jan. 6 were an "insurrection."
