A member of the Mar-a-Lago private club said that following a period of withdrawal after his election defeat, Donald Trump has in recent months assumed the role of social ringmaster, deciding to bring a disco vibe to the Palm Beach resort after dark.

“At about 9.30pm every night, he’s sitting at his table, whether on the patio or inside, and they bring a laptop over and he starts picking songs, and he starts being a DJ for the night, but it’s sort of funny because he picks like the same 10 songs every night,” the club member said.

The Trump playlist is of a certain era, when he was a regular clubber in New York. The signature tune is the Village People’s YMCA, alongside The Greatest Love of All by Whitney Houston, and a few Elton John numbers.

Donald Trump needs you to know that Republican candidates don't just like him, they love him. And they need him. Badly.

At a rally on Saturday night for Ohio GOP Senate nominee J.D. Vance, Trump made sure the crowd knew that Vance was subservient to him -- big time.

"J.D. is kissing my ass he wants my support so bad," Trump said.

Trump was reacting to a New York Times story that reported Vance had not actually invited Trump to campaign with him in the state. Instead, Trump's team had simply told Vance that they would be coming to Ohio for a rally.

Trump's campaign stops have always been, primarily, about Trump. You can tell that by the amount of time he spends talking about himself (a lot) versus how much time he spends talking about the candidate for whom he is ostensibly campaigning (very little).

But he has rarely thrown a candidate he endorsed so directly under the bus as he did Vance over the weekend. "He made J.D. Vance look like a mouse, not a man," former Virginia Republican Rep. Barbara Comstock told CNN of the moment. "It was humiliating."

Comstock is right. It's hard to see Trump's characterization of Vance as little more than a lackey benefiting him in his surprisingly competitive race against Democrat Tim Ryan this fall. Even for those voters who like Trump, the portrayal of Vance as little more than a lickspittle isn't terribly appealing.

But that's not what Trump cares about. Not really.

Sure, he visited Ohio to campaign for Vance -- at least on the surface. But what Trump is really doing is burnishing his own brand -- and basking in the adulation of his most dogged supporters. To quote Trump from more than three decades ago: "The show is Trump, and it is sold-out performances everywhere."

Yeah, that fucker Dearie has shown himself to be a Deep State operative. Where the hell does he get off, following established precedent and requiring the Trump team to provide evidence supporting their assertions‽ None but Trump-appointed judges can be trusted, and even some of them will have to go in the next Trump administration. :teef:

Speaking of Trump-appointed judges, if Dearie doesn't toe the Trumpist line Judge Cannon could overrule him on this.
In acting on a master's order, report, or recommendations, the court must give the parties notice and an opportunity to be heard; may receive evidence; and may adopt or affirm, modify, wholly or partly reject or reverse, or resubmit to the master with instructions.

Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, Rule 53 (f)(1)
There is an alternate theory, which says that if Dearie doesn't support the Trump assertions Cannon will use that as a cover to try to save something of her reputation.
In the end, both Trump and Judge Cannon will be hard pressed to preclude the inevitable result: the DOJ Mar-a-Lago probe will proceed, classified documents in hand. While this will surely be unwelcome news for Trump, who will find it difficult to attack a judge he himself recommended [Dearie], it may be a blessing for Judge Cannon. Judge Dearie's ability to satisfactorily resolve the executive privilege claims at the center of the dispute, the credibility of which will be enhanced by his reputation, gives Judge Cannon the perfect exit vehicle to uphold what is left of hers.

It's delaying tactics all way down - giving the Trump media machine enough time to scattergun an array of alternative facts into the backsides of the willing and the gullible.

Well, we have made a good dent into Trump. I doubt the NY case will even find a jury but there is hope. He might settle it with money to avoid a trial.

Trump and pals are saying FBI planted evidence

Now lawyers are asked to look at the list and essentially say which items were planted. They cannot, as they will lose their law license.

But FOX etc get to spend the w/e talking about how the FBI planted the things they took away. Next week they'll be talking about another thing to be #OUTRAGED about, and the same again week after that, and the week after that...

This is how King Troll has always operated. His followers love fresh content, and he delivers week after week. He was starting to slide out of the news cycle until the FBI raid, now everyone is talking about him, again.

Trump has finally left this planet altogether. He told Hannity that he can declassify secret documents by merely thinking about doing so.

Image

Judge Dearie, the man Trump asked to be special master, is attempting to pull him back into the real world. He has instructed Trump to swear an affidavit, under penalty of perjury, attesting to the same things he has been saying on social media and in the press/on TV (he declassified the documents, the document were planted by the FBI etc) or to withdraw those claims.

Judge Dearie has also appointed an assistant, which will be billed to Trump at $500/hr. He has ordered that the invoice must be paid within seven days or Trump will be ruled in contempt of court.

The special master Trump pushed for is asking for proof of his claim that the FBI planted evidence at Mar-a-Lago
