polling 2022.jpg
The generic ballot for congress got this results just before election.

The scary stuff from endless tweets and Fox seem to have turned the middle age group under 65 to the GOP. The soccer moms are convinced illegals are bringing drugs and violence. The 45-64 age group is also the most confused, with 19% not knowing. And not voting most likely.

Useless data. It means nothing. With the number of registration denials this has FA to do with FA.

Americans seem to think their 10 dollars somehow makes a difference. Yes, I give maybe to two or three candidates once. But many more give their 10 dollars weekly to Trump or Biden or DeSantis. They could just give 100 dollars once and be done with it.

Do they think it makes a difference? Is this more inportant than the actual voting?

Sure, I think they matter. We can’t compete with big money unless we are part of a fundraising effort.

Having said that, I haven’t donated recently and I don’t plan to.

This is also red state politics:
https://www.1011now.com/2022/12/13/stat ... utType=amp
The state deals with prisoners in state prisons.
But there is not room for all. So we in the county are housing spillover state prisoners. And the county pays the bill.

Wait, isn't the state paying the county for the inmates they take that should be held in state pens?

No, they send some random lump sumps, when the state has money.

U.S. Senate $1.66 trillion spending bill advances after immigration standoff

Progress on the bill had halted after conservative Republican Senator Mike Lee introduced an amendment meant to slow immigration on Wednesday night.

That move prompted Democrats to put forward a competing amendment that would boost funding for various law enforcement agencies that operate on the border.

Both amendments failed, which in practice allowed lawmakers to move forward with the overall package.

"We have an agreement now," Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said on the Senate floor before the amendments were voted upon. "It's taken a while, but it's worth it."

Brave democrats pass bill. These almost never happen when GOP has the presidency. Debt is not an issue then. Trump tried to block the bill, failed.
WASHINGTON — The Senate approved a $1.7 trillion government funding bill on Thursday, sending the legislation to the House, where it is expected to pass in time to beat a Friday night deadline to avert a partial federal government shutdown.

It was the last political news win. Ukraine might not get the missiles.

From January on it will be
