bleh, I'll let myself be convinced to drink Chopin or Krolewka, well refrigerated.... but common rectified alcohol is of no interest as it lacks taste.

Statement from The President: "Right now in a number of states the laws allow a baby to be born from his or her mother's womb in the 9th month. It is wrong. It has to change."

Trump running math? LOL
CNN
Adding to Trump's stress level are comments like the one made by former GOP Senator Jeff Flake, who recently declared that there would be "at least 35" Republican senators who would vote to remove Trump if ballots were kept secret. That number may be a bit high, but Democratic Sen. Chris Murphy stated a few weeks ago that he thinks there are at least five GOP senators already likely to vote with Democrats.
Any doubt that Trump is running this math through his head over and over, trying to figure out if he mocked or angered enough Republican senators that could spell his political doom? Of course, what gives Trump protection is that his GOP base backs him solidly, and any Republican senators who vote to remove Trump could expect to receive their wrath.

Sure, but even if they were caned by the party, they should think of all the money they could get from lecture tours and book launches... :tea:

TRUMP RE-ELECTION2.jpg
This is from a depressing politico article. It contains a point I have repeated many times. Trump cannot add any votes over last time. The 40% are stubborn and will show up, but his popularity shows he has not added any. The very few blacks that voted for him will vote again. But no new groups.

A Twitter threadreader of a Reuters legal reporter's analysis of Michael Flynn (Trump's first national security adviser who pleaded guilty to lying to to the FBI) and his lawyer's efforts to change the final outcome.

'A federal judge has rejected a request by lawyers for Mike Flynn that DOJ be forced to turn over a bunch of other evidence that they said could help show that the government acted improperly when it charged him with lying to the FBI.'

The judge is slapping down pretty much everything the lawyer is throwing up, and calling out apparent ethics violations by the lawyer as well.

In Twitter also, Rudy is spinning a story. I have a feeling Trump was told to ignore him.

In the center ring, we have the elephant and its trainer giving an incredible performance, but the lesser rings have some amazing things going on in them as well. US Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos being raked over the coals and lying outrageously should not be missed. Points of fact:
  • DeVos was found in contempt and fined $100,000 for not implementing debt relief for students of 'colleges' who lied egregiously about their job placement stats or otherwise defrauded their students. Of course she didn't pay the fine herself (not that she would have noticed, being a billionaire), that was taken care of by the US taxpayer.
  • There was a debt relief program in place when she became Secretary, but she immediately pounced on it and essentially shut it down.
  • Very few defrauded students got debt relief in the three years she's been in office. There is currently a backlog of 210,000 claims for relief. Many defrauded students have had to keep up their payments on the debts held by the fraudulent colleges or their collection agencies.
  • The new program that she's putting in place after three years of letting the colleges continue to collect money will only provide partial relief to many defrauded students rather than full relief, as under the preexisting program.
DeVos has been a champion of just the sort of ripoff 'institutes of higher learning' that created this situation for the entire time (decades) she's been involved in for-profit education. People on her staff have been lobbyists for them before getting a job with her.

In the CSPAN clip, a US Representative gives her serious grief for her wink and nod approach to the fraudulent colleges. In turn she takes serious offence at the audacity of him taking her to task. The heart of Representative Harder's question begins around the one minute mark.

A bombastic, Trump-supporting mixed martial arts fighter is desperately hoping that doctors can make his jaw great again after a “Nigerian Nightmare” smashed his MAGA mandible to smithereens, much to the dismay of xenophobic Ultimate Fighting Championship fans.

The main event at Saturday’s UFC 245 featured a matchup between Kamaru Usman, nicknamed “The Nigerian Nightmare,” and Colby Covington, a Trump loyalist supported by Donald Trump Jr. and other fans of putting black and brown people in cages. Before the fight, Covington promised to present the championship belt to Donald Trump at the White House and loudly mocked his adversary’s African heritage, asking: “What has [Usman’s] family ever done for America beside serve in the Federal penitentiary?”
Usman -
Let’s be honest. I’ve said it time and time again: I’m more American than him. I am what it means to be an American. I’m an immigrant that came here and worked my ass off tirelessly to get to the top, and I’m still prevailing. So that’s what it means to be an American.

It’s not necessarily just because you’re born here, you feel privileged is what it means to be an American. No. I told you none of these guys work harder than me. That’s what it means to be an American. I work my ass off, and I’m going to continue to work my ass off and obviously with good integrity.

I don’t have to walk around like a punk and say these certain things that are going to abuse the whole country or abuse the whole world and talk about people and religions — things like that. I don’t have to. I’m going to walk with integrity because at the end of the day, I want everyone that’s watching me, every eye that’s on me, to look at me and say, ‘You know what, that’s what we want to be, that’s the example that we like.’ And so, I’m more American than him. So, when they were chanting ‘USA,’ you damn sure better believe that was because of me.
