It does rather depend on constitutional arrangements. In the UK we generally think of the constitution as "Whatever the executive think they can get away with this week".

Following her misjudged speech on Wednesday calls for her to resign are increasingly loud now. She won’t go though at this stage - well I’d be astonished if she did.

We need a military coup and a re-run of the referendum under marshal law - and enforcement of the outcome under same! :lou:

Everyone stand down. Uri Geller has vowed to stop BREXIT telepathically. Phew! That was a close call!

Plus up to a million on the march. TM needs to smell the roses and politely fuck off.

I can’t see her resigning until she’s at the very end of the road she started out on. And no matter how many people are out on the streets or sign petitions the result of the referendum still stands.

Exactly. The cold hard facts is that the UK is heading for a no deal. It is what the Brexiteers want. People may laugh at Farage but he will be the laughing boy at the end of the day.

You say that, not because it is your rational judgement, though I grant you it is a strong possibility, but because you have nothing but ill will for this country.

The majority of the population clearly want a planned exit and a deal however they voted as the consensus seems to be that a ‘disorderly’ depsrture will be a big shock to the economy.

What nobody is discussing is the potential reaction of that majority if we leave without a deal- something only a small proportion of the population wish to see. They will feel betrayed and the potential for disorder will be very real.

I am speaking hard cold facts and fuck all to do with the country so drop it will you.
What majority voted for what? Leave? No mention was made how the UK would leave. The Brexiteers always wanted no deal. It suits their money.
No deal has never been off the table. You cant vote it off unless you have another default to put in place which of course there is not. There is now nothing except no deal or revoke which will never happen as long as the tories are in power. So what is left? No deal. A second referendum will do as much good as the first. This petition was a waste of time. The Brexiteers will just ignore it as 17 million voted to leave after all. May is doing the perfect job in the eyes of the Brexiteers or not? Dont hear them moaning.

All this was never meant to happen but that has to be left to an inquiry.
