So, she's a “practising member of the Church of England”. What's that got to do with anything?

Does that mean that “practising members of other faiths” are not as good, somehow?

She has lost rational thought. Religious nutters are unable to make rational decisions which is why she is in the mess she is.

All politicians are believers at election time.
Rationalia relies on voluntary donations. There is no obligation of course, but if you value this place and want to see it continue please consider making a small donation towards the forum's running costs.
Details on how to do that can be found here.

SD got a bit carried away there I think. He is more interested in convincing himself he’s won forum argument points than getting at the truth.

The fact is religion is still the default for many people - luckily fewer perhaps. To dismiss someone’s competence, good faith or sincerity by treating it as if they were anti-vaxers or holocaust deniers is simply not sensible.
And the C of E is as close to being agnostic as you can get and still be religious... ;)

...indeed I have, and I've read every Rumpole book and story. Fantastic series. Mortimer was a fantastic writer, and the characters in the Rumpole stories are very entertaining.
I agree...

So your incisive, objective and well informed explanation for the reason we are in this Brexit connundrum is because May is a religious nut and incapable of rational thought.

Thanks for that. I’ll pass that on to the Times letter column.

For god's sake, Blighty, just have a 2nd referendum already! People often compare Brexit to electing Trump, but we'll eventually be rid of Trump. De-Trumpification may even take decades, but Brexit is permanent!

You mast have inadvertently switched your nose off. Xenophobia was pushed very hard right from the start, particularly, but not only by UKIP.

That really is it - some people look at that and see xenophobia. Others see a need for border control. Nobody denies Europe has a migration problem. It's not "xenophobic," in my opinion, to be in favor of fixing that.

To be fair, in the bizarro Breitbart/Daily Caller parallel universe where Coity exists, racism was solved 50-60 years ago. :prof:

If only you had proper Dutch politicians and officials... things would run much more smoothly. Rudely, but smoothly.
