European Election in the UK is PR!
Dont tell the Brits that. You like me know in PR 30% is not a win but a negotiation position.

No.
Member states can run elections to the European Parliament according to their own national laws and traditions, but they must stick to some common rules. MEPs must be elected using a system of proportional representation - so, for example, a party which gains a third of the votes wins a third of the seats.

A simple concept but too complicated for some minds. Farage did not win.

Corbyn is really yesterday's man backing yesterday's ideas; a second referendum

Corbyn backs referendum on Brexit deal after voter exodus
To break parliamentary deadlock, deal has to be put to public vote, Labour leader says

Jeremy Corbyn has pledged to support a second referendum on any Brexit deal after the Labour leadership came under overwhelming pressure to halt the exodus of its remain voters who backed pro-EU parties at the European elections.

The Labour leader said he was “listening very carefully” to both sides of the debate after the party fell behind the Liberal Democrats and also lost ground to the Greens.

Labour’s preference would be a general election but any Brexit deal “has to be put to a public vote”, he said. Several Labour sources noted this was a shift from his previous position that a second referendum was being kept as an option on the table to stop a damaging Tory Brexit.
He is listening? FFS the fucking idiot is deaf as a door nail.

He's used the "I'm a stickler for procedure," - which isn't necessarily a bad thing - to hedge and fudge the matter until now. In a way it's quite refreshing to find a party leader who doesn't just make and change policies on the spot depending on which way the wind is blowing that week, but he should have taken Labour off that particular fence a while ago.

There us something quite disturbing about the whole political party mentality. It can drift into Stalin territory - the Party is always correct...

Actually, that's the Trotsky mentality, the party is correct and any nonconformists are to be cast into the outer darkness.

Boris Johnson to appear in court over Brexit misconduct claims

MP summonsed to face accusations relating to comments made in run-up to EU referendum

Boris Johnson has been summoned to court to face accusations of misconduct in public office over comments made in the run-up to the EU referendum.

The ruling follows a crowdfunded move to launch a private prosecution of the MP, who is the frontrunner in the Tory leadership contest.

Johnson lied and engaged in criminal conduct when he repeatedly claimed during the 2016 EU referendum campaign that the UK sent £350m a week to Brussels, lawyers for a 29-year-old campaigner who launched the prosecution bid told Westminster magistrates court last week.

A legal team assembled by Marcus Ball, who has accused the former foreign secretary of misconduct in public office and raised more than £200,000 to finance the prosecution, laid out their case in front of the district judge, Margot Coleman.

It seems that it was OK to lie, since both sides had the same opportunity to lie to the voters.
David Davies, who said it was “deeply sinister” that Johnson faced being “dragged” into court. He added on Twitter: “EU supporters falsely claimed that a leave vote would collapse the economy. No action being taken against them.”
