Brexit wasn't such a big deal. Given the likely, very likely, global economic stall to collapse, might be best to pull up the drawbridge sooner than later.

I assume stupidity will increase and trade wars break out followed by real ones like after the previous 1918 pandemic. I assume a whole lot more is wrong than a mere repeat of history. The question isn't whether the tattered global economic will repair itself before socio-economic disaster but how it held together so long.

1918 was after the First World War. If it takes another 20 years before the next big conflict, well - I'll be past caring and living.
Trade wars? Why would that be?

...also isn't the pandemic supposed to kill off the stupid people? :ask:

Nothing wrong with the world economy. Despite dire predictions, there has been actual economic growth during the Great Pandemic.

...so I ask again how do your calculations work?

Derivatives bubble II you mean? Yeah, it's growing. Inflating on the back of trillions upon trillions of debt freshly introduced.

You only have to stop calling it debt and start calling it investment and the problem goes away.

Taking back control of our borders is working very well, just not for the UK...
Exports from Ireland to Great Britain soared in the first six months after Brexit as imports sent in the opposite direction declined, according to Irish government figures.

In a sign of post-Brexit imbalances in trade, the Irish Central Statistics Office (CSO) said goods exports to Great Britain (excluding Northern Ireland) rose by 20% to €6.7bn (£5.7bn) in the first six months of 2021, an increase of more than €1.1bn compared with the same period in 2020.

However, imports from Great Britain fell by more than €2.5bn, or 32%, to stand at €5.3bn in the same period.

According to the CSO, exports from Great Britain to Ireland decreased by 16% in June compared with the same month in 2020, with food, live animals and manufactured goods hit hardest.

British exporters have been hit harder by Brexit because they faced border checks from 1 January on shipments to the EU, while Irish and EU exporters to Britain have benefited from a phased in approach the UK government opted for over a 12-month transition period...

Well who would blame them as nobody trusts the UK anymore:

UK in Brexit climbdown as safety rule deadline extended
Manufacturers will have an extra year to start using UKCA mark, which is replacing EU’s CE mark

The government has pushed back a deadline for the launch of post-Brexit product safety standards by allowing companies to follow EU rules until 2023, in the latest climbdown amid concerns over the economy.

Businesses will have an extra year to start using the new UKCA mark, which is planned to replace the EU’s CE mark used to certify that a wide range of products meet safety standards, including electrical goods and construction materials.

In the latest delay to post-Brexit reforms as firms struggle with disruption caused by the pandemic and leaving the EU, the government said firms would be given more time to adapt.

The postponement joins a long line of delays to post-Brexit rules undertaken by the government amid concern over the impact on businesses, jobs and the economy, including pushing back border controls for EU imports of animal origin.

Supermarket shelves are beginning to look a bit patchy round here. Lack of trained HGV drivers, says the government - but everyone else in the business is citing Brexit and Covid. Nandos had to close a chunk of stores last week because they didn't have any chickens, MacDonald's ran out of milkshakes and bottled drinks, and now the pubs and breweries are running dry apparently!
