The 'voter fraud' rationale for Republican vote suppression tactics is taking a beating in the courts. This ruling is from a damn Clinton appointed judge. Four more years of Trump/Pence should take care of traitors like him.

'Federal judge issues scathing decision to allow more ballot drop boxes in Ohio'
A federal judge on Thursday blocked an order from Ohio's secretary of state that would have required counties in the state to install ballot drop boxes just at the local election office, allowing additional drop boxes to be placed in areas that need them.

At issue was an order earlier this week from Republican Secretary of State Frank LaRose that limited ballot drop boxes to one location per county: a county's election office. LaRose had been interpreting an Ohio law that states the only two ways to return an absentee ballot are to mail it or "personally deliver it to the director" as meaning that if a voter chooses to use a drop box, it must be at the County Board of Elections office, because that is still considered to be delivering the ballot directly to the director.

But federal Judge Dan Polster said LaRose's order puts a burden on more populous counties -- like Cuyahoga, which includes Cleveland -- and which he says has "a very serious looming problem" that could jeopardize the right to vote.

"While it may be said that the 7,903 registered voters in Noble County may find a single drop box location sufficient, the record demonstrates that the 858,041 registered voters in Cuyahoga County will likely not," Polster wrote in a scathing opinion.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and the rest of the GOP leadership know that blocking an economic aid package will lead to a lot of unnecessary suffering. But they're thinking less about 2020 and more about 2021: if the Biden/Harris ticket prevails, as now appears likely, Republicans will magically return to their pre-2017 posture, forget everything they said during Trump's (and George W. Bush's) presidency, and demand sweeping austerity measures.

Austerity is a really bad idea, economically speaking that it.

US Senator Susan Collins is providing (minimal) financial support for QAnon believers who're trying to get seats in the state legislature for Maine. She's supposedly a 'moderate' Republican. :coffee:

'Susan Collins Backs QAnon Believers for Maine Legislature'
Sen. Susan Collins is financially supporting the state legislative campaigns of two fellow Maine Republicans who fervently believe in QAnon, the perverse conspiracy theory whose adherents are considered a domestic terror threat by the FBI. In recent days, Facebook and YouTube have announced actions to curb the spread of QAnon content due to mounting fears that its followers — who deify President Trump and believe his enemies are a global cabal of pedophilic Satanists — will engage in violence before or after Election Day.

Kevin Bushey and Brian Redmond, the QAnon believers supported by Collins, are both military veterans who eagerly anticipate a political bloodbath will soon erupt nationwide, ultimately leading to arrests, military trials, and “God-declared executions” for “traitors” like top Democratic politicians and donors, socialists, Planned Parenthood, and Black Lives Matter and Sunrise Movement activists.

Last month, Collins’ personal political action committee, Dirigo PAC, contributed $400 each to Bushey and Redmond. Both are challenging Democratic incumbents for seats in the Maine House of Representatives representing parts of Aroostook County — the poverty-plagued, northernmost area of the state, where Collins was born and raised. The Maine GOP’s campaign fund for House races also gave Bushey and Redmond $400 each last month. For Redmond, those contributions amount to more than half the money his campaign has raised so far.

“Given the closeness of her race, [Collins] should have been really careful about who she gives money to,” said longtime Maine political columnist Al Diamon. He said there’s “no way” the donations to Bushey and Redmond “would not be carefully vetted” by Collins and her staff.

Mitch and pals to vote. House will not pass it:
CNN
Senate Republicans on Tuesday will try to advance a stand-alone Payroll Protection Program bill to help small businesses reeling from the coronavirus pandemic before moving on Wednesday to vote on the same $500 billion stimulus bill that Democrats blocked last month.

Looks like Trump has a new strategy now.
Rudy Giuliani has announced that he has turned over Hunter Biden’s hard drive to Delaware State Police due to pornographic photos of underage girls and inappropriate text messages.

tldr;

Hunter facetiming naked with under age teen girls high on crack.
A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.
