Any reasonable person would refuse to give a mandatory sentence if they didn’t believe it was just. Who knows what any judge would do.

Sex trafficker Matt Gaetz does not want Kevin's federal police (who would track women taken out of state as Gaetz did):
So if you see, like, the third bullet point in whatever this is suggests that the federal government needs to fund incentives for 200,000 new law enforcement. I do not believe in the federal government being excessively entangled in state and local law enforcement. It is not practical,” Gaetz told the Caller.

"Independent" thinks Republicans and Trump can affect business cycles. Even though Republican presidents other than Reagan had less GDP growth than Democrats.
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-62999166
Republicans have hammered Democrats in local races over inflation and the cost of basic necessities, trying to pin blame for a complex economic issue on the party in power. Polling has shown voters trust Republicans over Democrats to handle economic issues. A Politico/Morning Consult poll conducted from 16 to 18 September found 46% of registered voters trusted Republicans in Congress on the economy, compared to 38% who trusted Democrats (16% weren't sure, or didn't have an opinion).

Dr. Mehmet Oz, the Republican candidate for US Senate in Pennsylvania, has made the economy central to his argument. He claimed on Twitter that Mr Biden's "reckless spending has increased the price of everything…We need to reverse Biden's failed agenda and focus on restoring America's economy ASAP."
It's true that the pandemic recovery bills probably pushed us into inflation. But the last bill has not brought in reckless spending yet. Only the family oriented and drug related support has been implemented. No "energy" investment has taken place over the past few months. When the gas price went up.

New Mexico: Mark Ronchetti ad attacks Democratic governor while citing incident that happened under Republican governor

The ad featured Ronchetti and his wife, Krysty, telling a frightening story about Krysty and their daughters hiding in a closet, Krysty with a gun, because someone had broken into their home in what the ad calls a home invasion. Krysty said she was relieved to see the police arrive.

Ronchetti said: “Not every situation ends this way. Everybody seems to have a crime story. This is one of the biggest reasons I got into politics. Because we can’t keep doing this. Governor Lujan Grisham has made it easier to be a criminal than a cop.” He continued by criticizing Lujan Grisham over specific criminal justice policies.

Facts First: The Ronchetti ad left out critical context. The incident discussed by Ronchetti and his wife occurred in 2012 – during the tenure of Republican governor Susana Martinez, not the Lujan Grisham administration.

Election results denial now dogma.
According to a recent FiveThirtyEight analysis, 201 of the 552 Republican nominees running for office in 2022 have “fully denied the legitimacy of the 2020 election” — meaning that 60% of Americans will have an election denier on their ballot this fall. Many will get elected. Some will oversee future elections.

If those officials enable “more candidates” on their own side to “challenge elections like Donald Trump,” and if they ultimately help overturn some of those elections, chaos could ensue. Four out of five Americans (81%) say they are either “very” (42%) or “somewhat” (38%) worried about the future of U.S. democracy — with a nearly identical level of worry among Democrats (83%), Republicans (82%) and independents (81%). Each side of the United States' political divide perceives the other as a threat to democracy.

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Representative Lauren Boebert blasted President Biden’s student-loan-forgiveness program, claiming that it would lead to “rampant education.”

“This proposal is maybe the most reckless ever set forth by a President,” she said. “It will lead to rampant education and wonton [sic] learning.”
Attributing nefarious motives to the proposal, Boebert charged, “President Biden wants to educate as many people as possible, so they’ll become Democrats.”

Boebert described a nightmare scenario in which “everyday Americans start using words you’ll have to look up in the dictionary. I don’t want to live in an America like that.”

The Colorado lawmaker added that there needed to be “tougher controls” on college students’ purchase of books,

including background checks and a ten-day cooling-off period.

Did you watch the Beto vs Abbott debate Tero? Beto did well. It won’t matter, but I enjoyed hearing Beto’s reasonable responses to Republican insanity.
