Republicans: ANOTHER trove of classified documents found in the Biden residence.
This is after Cringe Karine said that the search of Biden's home was complete.
Looks like they've got documents coming out of the woodworks over in Wilmington.
Still no FBI raid…

Re: Republicans: continued
They've got themselves a real winner in George Santos. Ran on a completely fabricated CV and persona, while his actual background apparently includes larceny and check forging. Latest story to come out has him embezzling funds intended to help a homeless veteran's dog to fight cancer. Santos is a living caricature of a dirty rotten rip-off artist. The new Republican Speaker of the House is standing by him though, and why not? Dirty rotten rip-off artist is a big part of the party brand these days.

'George Santos took $3,000 from dying dog’s GoFundMe, veterans say'
Two New Jersey veterans say now-Congressman George Santos promised to raise funds for lifesaving surgery for one of their dogs in 2016, then became elusive and took off with the money.
Santos, the embattled freshman Republican, faces growing pressure to resign after he lied and misrepresented his educational, work and family history. Santos has admitted to “embellishing” his resume, but has maintained he is “not a criminal.”
Rich Osthoff, a US Navy veteran, told CNN his pit bull Sapphire began developing a tumor in 2015, and it continued to grow in 2016. Osthoff said he was homeless, living in a tent, at the time after losing his job and house.
Osthoff’s mentor and friend Michael Boll, founder of New Jersey Veterans Network, told CNN he took Osthoff under his wing as part of the charity’s mentorship program and tried to get help for his dog.
Boll said a mutual friend connected the two veterans with Santos, who told them Santos was frequently involved with helping and rescuing animals. Boll and Osthoff both knew Santos by the name Anthony Devolder, they said.
Santos set up a GoFundMe for Osthoff’s pit bull, Sapphire, Boll said. A post from the Facebook profile of George Devolder links to a GoFundMe raising surgery funds for the dog.
...
The fundraiser eventually raised around $3,000, according to Boll.
But things went south after Osthoff tried to access the GoFundMe money, he said.
Santos became uncooperative, according to Osthoff and Boll – at first saying Osthoff needed to take his dog to a veterinary clinic of Santos’ choice, then claiming another clinic wouldn’t accept Santos’ form of payment.
“I had to jump through hoops and do everything his way,” Osthoff told CNN. “He was just totally, totally difficult. One obstacle after another.”
At one point, Santos told Osthoff directly that he wouldn’t be getting the money. Osthoff said he accused Santos of running a bogus charity, and Santos became confrontational.
“He got so angry with me and he blew up and refused to give me the money and then just wouldn’t answer the calls anymore,” he said.
In a statement to CNN, GoFundMe said it removed the fundraiser from its platform after receiving a report about it.

Re: Republicans: continued
There's reporting out that George Santos performed in drag when he was in Brazil. I actually hope the Republicans do end up not taking any action against him. Their fecklessness will be on full display in 2024 and Santos will make an excellent albatross for Republicans in that election.

Re: Republicans: continued
Just a reminder that when Republicans claim to be the party of 'fiscal responsibility' they mean giving tax breaks to corporations and the wealthy while slicing away at the social safety net.
'Iowa Republicans Push "Profoundly Cruel and Petty" Food Benefit Restrictions'
'Iowa Republicans Push "Profoundly Cruel and Petty" Food Benefit Restrictions'
Republicans in the Iowa House introduced legislation this month that would impose a slew of fresh restrictions on the kinds of food people can purchase using SNAP benefits, sparking outrage among local groups who say the measure would exacerbate hunger in the GOP-dominated state.
The Des Moines Area Religious Council (DMARC), an interfaith group that operates the largest food pantry network in Iowa, noted in a statement earlier this week that if the bill passes, "Iowans could no longer use their SNAP benefits to purchase meat, nuts, and seeds; flour, butter, cooking oil, soup, canned fruits, and vegetables; frozen prepared foods, snack foods, herbs, spices—not even salt or pepper."
"This is a punitive policy that will do nothing to improve the health and nutrition of Iowans, but rather be a detriment," the group said.
The Iowa Hunger Coalition (IHC) also condemned the bill, voicing opposition to its proposed food restrictions as well as new asset limits that would make it more difficult for families to qualify for SNAP, a program funded by the federal government and administered by states.
...
SNAP recipients are already limited in what they can purchase at the grocery store using their benefits, but Iowa Republicans are seeking to dramatically expand those restrictions.
As Todd Dorman of the Iowa Gazette explained in a column on Thursday, the legislation "would require the Department of Health and Human Services to seek a federal waiver allowing Iowa to scrap an already restrictive federal list of approved foods and replace it with a list of food available to recipients of aid to Women, Infants, and Children, or WIC."
"The bill would also, for the first time, create an asset test, limiting household assets to $2,750 or $4,250 if one member of the household is over 60. It exempts just one vehicle, potentially making households with two cars ineligible," Dorman wrote. "Beyond all of that draconian wisdom, the bill would force recipients to jump through far more regulatory hoops to become eligible and stay on SNAP, wrapping recipients tightly in red tape and likely costing the state millions more to administer the program."
"Only two groups support the bill," Dorman added. "One is the Florida-based Opportunity Solutions Project, which sends its minions across the country to cut holes in the social safety net and oppose policies such as Medicaid expansion. The group is part of a web of conservative think tanks and bill mills bankrolled by rich donors who think if you just make poor people hungry and sick enough, they'll utilize their bootstraps."
