Still weird. I'm seeing nothing more than 30" swells on Windy around Dog Island.

It's a conspiracy dude. All the news reports are faked. Filmed in Lucas's studios.

I planned it. I want property values to drop till I can afford beach front, and I want all the fucking Yankees to leave. Then us saltwater rednecks will take over, re-establish the Republic of West Florida, and sign a mutual defense treaty with Putin. Our national motto will be "Fuck ALL y'all".
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Whatever guys... Check windy.com it has all the data. Here's yet another screen of the storm of the century:

I'm looking at windy.com, seeing sustained 35 knots on Dog, 53 knot gusts, 11 foot waves on the Gulf side, 7 foot waves on the bay. It doesn't have tide or surge data.

I don't know what they're measuring, or how they're doing it, to get their sustained wind speeds. They're showing 6 knot sustained at the eyewall currently, with 85 knot gusts. I'll buy 85 knot gusts, but 6 sustained is bull.

There's apparently only one webcam still active, here: http://stream.webcams.travel/1260999468 ... 1539222473

It looks pretty calm for the 5ft waves indicated by the data on windy.

If that's Gulf Pines just outside Destin it's 120 miles west of Apalachicola.

Yeah, but it's the only cam I could find in the area. It has 5ft waves on windy just like Dog Island.

Anyway, I'm sure all the weather stations have the wrong data on the wind speeds or something. Surely this was the storm of the century.

Actually, unless they're just making up the data for some reason, it's the worst storm ever recorded on the Panhandle. So more like the storm of two centuries (or thereabout).

From CNN:
At least one person is dead and hundreds of thousands of homes are without power as Hurricane Michael moves inland from Florida to Georgia.

Michael made landfall Wednesday around 2 p.m. ET as a Category 4 storm near Mexico Beach, Florida. The strongest storm to hit the continental US since Hurricane Andrew in 1992, Michael dashed homes into pieces, swallowed marinas and left piles of rubble where shopping centers once stood.
Live updates on Hurricane Michael
Now a Category 1 storm with winds up to 90 mph, the storm is moving across southwestern Georgia about about 17 mph near Albany. Meanwhile, flooding continues along the Gulf Coast, where downed trees and utility polls are making precarious rescue efforts even harder.

You are reading Windy correctly. It is giving the good data.
