Honestly, what difference does any of it make? Can't y'all see that this is exactly what they want us to do? Go for each others throats over shit that, to the vast majority of us, makes absolutely no fucking difference and doesn't affect us in the slightest? By "us" I mean the Great Unwashed, the Huddled Masses, the fucking mob that, if we all realized exactly how thoroughly we've been played for the last century or so, would hang them all by their ermine socked heels from the nearest lamppost. Trump, Obama, Bush, Clinton, BoJo, May, Blair, Brown, Morrison, Abbot, Rudd, Sibusa, Mswati III ... it makes no difference who's in office or what they call themselves, they're all a bunch of self-serving, power-mad, narcissistic sociopaths. The job lot. It's OUR money they're stealing, it's OUR rights they're restricting (for the greater good, of course), it's OUR birthright they're selling for a mess of pottage. They're sipping Dom on their private jets, paid for with OUR money, to Important Conferences where they'll decide we need to give more, more, more, because Climate Change, and Dehydrated Migrant Babies, and Poor LIttle Cancer Ridden Kids Without Health Insurance. We'll nod sagely and say "Yes, that's reasonable, I understand, I'll do my bit...". Fucking hell. Screw them, and the horse they rode.

Yeah, maybe, for one term. One of two things happen when somebody new hits the scene and starts to gain a bit of power: 1) they're marginalized or 2) they're co-opted. "Marginalized" can be anything from suddenly losing the next election to dying in an unexplained accident or unexpected suicide (just ask Jeff). Most choose to get co-opted, once they suss out the true lay of the land. Bernie Sanders is a millionaire, after all. Trump used to be a Democrat. Pelosi and Reed are filthy rich.

Every now and then the Hoi Polloi get a bit riled up, and things get dicey. So they change tactics, throw in an Obama, give the jibaboos something to do other than riot. Hang on, hang on, polls show O'Bammy isn't popular enough among the Rednecks and Old Retired Fucks (hey, they vote), we better give 'em somthing. Trump! Yeah, that's the ticket.

If nothing else works, gin up a good war. Not a bad war, one with lots of casualties on the 6:00 news, a good war. One where you lose less men in 14 years then you did in 3 months in 'Nam or a good afternoon in 1944. One you can ride for literally decades while those Electric Boat stocks go through the roof.

Meanwhile, we stop talking to family members because some mesomorph foo'ba' player doesn't kneel for our Stirring and Patriotic National Anthem. We deserve whatever happens to us.
