Is that supposed to be some newly discovered thing? Cheeses fucking crust, Facebook has been known to sell such data for years.

With Amazon people think the books they download for their little Kindle that they own them. They dont they rent them. Amazon removes them from its cloud without notice.

I went on facebook about five to ten years ago.

I was on it for one day. Within hours, it became obvious what they were up to, with the information they were trying to get.
I closed it the same day.

I did go back on, with a false name and ID soon after, so that I can open facebook links that I'm given.

It'll either fold or go 100% evil now with every dirty trick in the tech manual to make money. A return to irritating random pop-up ad culture etc...easier and more lucrative to go evil.

You have been fortunate. In my wife's book club plenty of women have lost books. My wife does not use a Kindle of course. She uses the far superior KOBO Aura 1. It uses 19 different formats. 7.8 inch screen with special night lighting.

Yeah, what Dutchy says is right. Well it was a few years ago. I assume it is still the case. There was a lots stink created when this first started happening.

It is also the reason Amazon restricts Kindle to one format. Amazon just loves control.
