First, collect all guns, melt them down.

Have people apply for the black powder rifles, the only gun given to civilians. One each to start with. With that, one rifle and and bow and arrow, we have ”bear arms.”

Well, this is a key point.

What needs to be done is there should be some iteration of:

A. background check for all gun ownership/permits which is adequate to identify criminal and psych past problems;
B. A requirement for any person who wants to own a gun to be permitted;
C. A requirement to report any missing or stolen or lost firearm;
D. No loopholes for registration or permitting of gun sales (like gun show or personal transactions -- a gift of a gun to a family member should require a registration/permit).
E. Reasonable limitation on size and power of guns.

Add to that, I think perhaps we could require some sort of RFID chip be embedded in each new gun produced so that it would be tracked. That way, if it comes near a school, or another restricted area, an alarm could sound.

Some iteration of that.

It's a odd sort of freedom in the US where everyone is smiling and pleasant in fear of their neighbours gnu. That much is certain.

How about we talk about who is actually doing the mass shootings? It's young, white, teenaged males. It's not women, black males, old dudes, kindergarten kids - it's fucked up teenagers. Where are they getting the fucking guns? This last one bought his legally, because we think 18 year olds have the maturity to do that. Fuck that shit. You should be at LEAST 25 to own any sort of gun, because prior to that your brain hasn't developed. Others get them from home because their parents are irresponsible assholes. Stop molly-coddling the little fuckers and treating them like adults. If you're underage and get caught with a gun outside an adult's supervision you go to jail till you're old enough to act like a fucking human. If you're an adult who lets a kid get hold of your weapon YOU go to jail for being fucking moron. If they start posting aggressive shit on social media and acting all squirrely put them in the nut house where they belong.

Honestly, the vast majority of bad criminal shit is done by young males so concentrate on them. I don't give a fuck if it's sexist, it's the fucking truth. Quit telling me I can't own a weapon because some fucking idiot child can't be trusted, try keeping a lid on the little shits.

Stop selling guns to anyone with the money to buy one. Put some teeth into the background check laws. Confiscate weapons from anyone convicted of any sort of violent or even property crime. If you've been vandalizing your neighbors car then you can never own a weapon. Hell, you get your driving license suspended then you can't be trusted with a weapon.

Stop fucking around and get serious about it or you're going to see this happening over and over again.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

at least 25? remember there are plenty of armed military personnel and cops under that age, and the discriminated gen pop would win a suit to get a law mandating that down on second amendment and rupture of equality between citizens .

Legislators are in reality killing children because of their unwillingness to act.

The Republicans take no responsibility. The Democrats are not in power. Because of the 2nd amendment, this is difficult to control at state level as well.

They can't act. The supreme court has sided with the right to bear arms. The people support the right to bear arms. Only when enough Americans don't support guns will the situation change.

We have to make them unpopular.

The thing is does the 'right to bear arms' actually protect people when it comes to being safer? If it did then one might have some reason to support the idea. The reality is that it does not seem to.

An interesting analysis of some stats from 2012 which concludes:

"The notion that a good guy with a gun will stop a bad guy with a gun is a romanticized vision of the nature of violent crime. And that the sea of guns in which we live causes exponentially more danger and harm than good. It's long past time to start emphasizing the "well-regulated" phrase in the 2nd Amendment".
