'UK wellbeing rises after Brexit vote'

In the year after the UK narrowly voted to exit the European Union, there was a small but significant increase in the population's feeling of wellbeing, official statistics show.

The improvements in areas such as life satisfaction and happiness were seen only in England, however. Elsewhere, the rates flatlined.
People in Northern Ireland continued to report the highest levels of wellbeing.

Rates of anxiety increased slightly, but not significantly.

(continued, got to say does feel a bit good kicking a 27 member pack of dogs and walking away...at least for now.)

It's probably the English feeling splendid about getting rid of all the bloody foreigners after Brexit is done and dusted.

It might have nothing to do with Brexit just part of a cycle. Cameron started the ONS happiness survey in June 2011 as a way to measure the government's success aside from looking at economic markers like GDP. Happiness in Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Wales remains flat, but then again, as Crumple would say, that pair of trousers won't walk themselves to the launderette. :tea:

Examine trends in UK gin consumption.

You may find a correlation... :tea:

Perhaps it is the £350 million a week extra we are going to spend on the health service that is cheering people up.

..oh - wait. :fp:

I think you're onto something. I mean, we've never had it so good have we?
