Hypersensitivity - Next Victim, Ellen Degeneres

Post by Forty Two » Thu Oct 26, 2017 6:47 pm

https://www.thewrap.com/ellen-degeneres ... ing-tweet/

O.k., so it was Katy Perry's birthday, and her friend Ellen Degeneres tweeted out a happy birthday, and joked that it's time to break out the big balloons. She emphasized the double entendre intent by posting it with a picture of Ellen gawking, mouth agape, at Katy Perry's sumptuous rack.

O.k. - so, some folks started carping, saying that if a guy said the same thing, the world would stop and there would be outrage. Agreed. There would.

But, isn't the reality that our culture of outrage has gotten so bad that even something so tame as this is getting people's dander up? Either the outrage is that Ellen said this, or there is outrage that there wasn't enough outrage that Ellen said this.

I say, enough already -- she said balloons in reference to the lovely breasts everyone can plainly see Katy Perry has. So fucking what? Are we supposed to be worried about the chil'run or something?

You don’t say ‘the army’ with the intensity,” she continued. “... But you say these names [Al Qaeda] because you want that word to carry weight. You want it to be something.” - Ilhan Omar

It's going to be interesting to see where it all ends. I reckon most people feel that hypersensitivity is a bit silly and that it causes more grief than it supposedly defends but it's difficult to publicly defend someone accused by the righteous because they are actually right at the most basic level.

However, with absolutely no leeway for error without a torrent of life-changing opprobrium descending upon the accused because of a minor infarction like a compliment gone wrong, day to day life will become terribly claustrophobic.

It's basically belittling to be hypersensitive or outraged on behalf of someone who is quite capable of expressing themselves on behalf of themselves.

Hypersensitivity is a luxury for the privileged and the elite...and perhaps students. Most people have to put up with rejection, insults, dismissal, casual sexism, undervaluation and general bad treatment a great deal of the time.

Did Elvis go to jail for shaking his hips, or was he just run out of town?

People are dumb, like really fucking dumb, and dangerous.

I want to watch Ellen eat Katy's pussy. OK I know that's really sexist and shit, but I really wanna see it. I feel I can tell y'all that and you won't judge me.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.
