Once the judge gets in, Republicans will spend 2018-2020 banning abortion. Healthcare? ”Democrats should just get a job.”

White nationalist? Look, I just hope to one day understand how a guy can hate everyone he's supposedly fighting for. Or have I just misunderstood you? It's truly bizarre to me man. :dunno:

Even now you're using transgenders --ie making out that you're fighting for them-- you'll use immigrants when it suits you, or minorities in general. But I don't think you like most people, and probably not a whole lot from some of these groups.

I guess there's nothing wrong with it, but it annoys me.

I’m not using any of them. It’s Trump that’s using minorities as the butt of his jokes.

I spent my early life in a country that’s 95% one culture and language. Now they want to leave the EU because of refugees. They can’t even seem to be able to employ the Somalies and others.

We can do better. I’m in a red state, in a city of 300 000 and ecen here we’ve done better than Finland. Though we seem to be the same 95% white.

Hah, even my city in the prairie is more multicultural than Finland. We are 86% white. Latinos outnumber blacks.

Finland I did not get good % numbers on, but 96% are Lutheran or non-religious, so about 96% white. Languages:
The largest immigrant languages are Russian (1.4%), Estonian (0.9%), Arabic (0.4%), Somali (0.3%) and English (0.3%).

Whether McConnell likes it or not, the McConnell Rule is law. When McConnell declared in 2016 that Supreme Court nominees are not allowed hearings in an election year, that decree carried legal force - the same legal force as former majority leader Harry Reid's reduction of the threshold to defeat filibusters for executive appointments and most judicial nominations from 60 to 51 senators.

As every lawyer knows, not all laws are statutes. Many laws come in different forms: court decisions, agency rules, general principles, customary practices, and sometimes even widely accepted opinions by legal experts. Like these non-statutory propositions, parliamentary rules announced by Senate majority leaders constitute laws as well. As a result, they are binding on future legislators unless and until they are explicitly overturned.

Doing his part to boost the US economy.

'Vern Buchanan bought yacht after voting for House version of GOP tax bill'
A recently filed financial disclosure shows U.S. Rep. Vern Buchanan celebrated passing the House version of the Republican tax bill in quite the lavish way.

According to the disclosure, Buchanan spent between $1 million and $5 million purchasing an Ocean Alexander yacht on Nov. 16, 2017, the same day he joined 226 other Republicans and no Democrats in voting for the first draft of the “Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.”

The final tax bill passed Congress on Dec. 20 and was signed into law by President Donald Trump two days later.

While the tax plan was pitched as helping the middle class, it does so only minimally and temporarily if at all. For the nation’s highest earners and for corporations, however, it was a magnanimous change in policy.

Count Buchanan among those benefitting bigly.

It’s no secret that Buchanan, who represents Florida’s 16th Congressional District, is a wealthy man. According to a Roll Call report, his $73.9 million net worth makes him the eighth wealthiest member of Congress, and by far the wealthiest from the Sunshine State ...

Given his net worth and income, progressive group Tax March estimated that the bill would save him up to $2.1 million on his taxes.

Good ol' Vern, he's our representative. Made his money in used cars. Haven't seen his boat at the marina yet, I'll keep an eye out.

Ocean Alexanders are generally a good boat, though older ones are Taiwanese builds and can be a bit dodgy like all the Asian boats. Depends on the boat, a thorough survey is definitely in order. Their big yachts are built in the States, on Merritt Island. You can get a pretty nice boat for 1-5 mil. We looked at an late 80s 44 foot O.A. when we were shopping, nice layout and fairly roomy, but the teak decks were a deal killer. That was priced at $110G. If I had 5 million to spend I'd be buying a Nordhavn or a Bering.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.
