The next person that tells me Democrats are as bad, or even almost as bad, as Republicans, is getting kneed in the fucking nutsack.

Florida Republicans Believe Porn Is More Dangerous Than Guns
On Tuesday, less than a week after the deadliest school shooting in U.S. history, students who survived the massacre looked on as Florida's House of Representatives voted along party lines to shut down a bill banning assault rifles.

According to Florida's legislature the real threat to the health and safety of the state's teens isn't how easy it is for their classmate to legally purchase an AR-15. According to the Tampa Bay Times, the pressing, immediate danger is in all those erotic Tumblrs out there:

The state's House of Representatives approved the resolution by a voice vote on Tuesday. The resolution states a need for education, research and policy changes to protect Floridians, especially teenagers, from pornography.

Republican Rep. Ross Spano says there is research that finds a connection between pornography use and mental and physical illnesses, forming and maintaining intimate relationships and deviant sexual behavior. Spano is also a candidate for attorney general.

The most twisted part of this is the demands by Florida Republicans to research the public health impact of porn, while the CDC is implicitly banned from doing research on gun violence. The 1996 Dickey Amendment specifically blocks the CDC from using its budget to "advocate or promote gun control," and since objective, peer-reviewed, scientific studies consistently show effective gun control would reduce gun violence, there's no research the CDC can do that won't sacrifice its funding.

In most of the cases the shooter wants to attract attention to himself and thereby become famous. Shooting up a bunch of defenseless kids or concert goers just doesn't do it; it just makes people think you are a coward and a pussy. Why not do something noteworthy: go after bigger game! I'm sure that it would be rather easy to get access to a pro-gun legislator. Surely everybody would be impressed by someone who would be brave enough to waste someone like that! Even better if their family is included. The Republicans couldn't help but admire a person who would be so daring as to blow away a dangerous target like that, and the anti-gun Democrats would be tickled pink to see a fitting target. Newspapers would surely report on that for days, pro and con. Next, target the whole sitting state senate: go in with guns blazing and yelling "From my cold dead hands...". Toss in a few grenades for good measure and fucking fame is certain to follow! There might probably be a movie in it for you! But don't stop there, it's only a start! Go countrywide and blow up the US Congress building while the legislators are sitting. That would be a blast! You could walk in as a fucking plutonium bomb and set yourself off while giving a finger to Mitch, the cameras would record it for the posterity and film would be seen at 11 in every fucking country in the world that had electricity. Even Borneo headhunters would be in awe of you, although they would be saddened by the lack of available trophies. But, hey, why stop there? Next stop, The Capitol and The White House! Get together with a couple of friends and plan this real well: Steal couple of those jet interceptors with a nuclear weapon aboard and head towards Washington. DC that is. Since there are more than one of you, the credit for this unbelievable feat of bravery must be shared, but you would get the lion's share because YOU planned it! How's that for fame! And the last time it was done was in 1814, but now you can do better. Surely people will remember that feat for more than 200 years. It might even be possible that the US Postal Service would issue a stamp commemorating that heroic escapade! Fuck that, even a Souvenir Sheet of six, hell, even twelve, goddamn stamps, with you as the centerpiece, rising majestically from the ashes of Washington, DC, as a Phoenix from a burning egg! Son-of-a-bitch, the mormons would probably name their planet Kolob after you, but, for sure, the planet Nibiru would forever bear your name.
If you do this, you don't know me or hear this from me, I don't need to share in the fame. It's all yours, and good luck in your future endeavours! We're all pulling for you! :fall:

Yeah but Trump and Pence. Just two shots. Ryan would do for 2 years. He’s not worse than Pence, he only wants to destroy Soc Sec and Medicare.

Oh, the "martial rhetoric."

At a time when our discourse has become so sharply polarized -– at a time when we are far too eager to lay the blame for all that ails the world at the feet of those who happen to think differently than we do -– it’s important for us to pause for a moment and make sure that we’re talking with each other in a way that heals, not in a way that wounds.
“When I was in college, I took a terrorism class. ... The thing that was interesting in the class was every time the professor said ‘Al Qaeda’ his shoulders went up, But you know, it is that you don’t say ‘America’ with an intensity, you don’t say ‘England’ with the intensity. You don’t say ‘the army’ with the intensity,” she continued. “... But you say these names [Al Qaeda] because you want that word to carry weight. You want it to be something.” - Ilhan Omar

Heck, I don't want to participate in it, inciting acts of uncivil aggression is enough for me. I want to watch it in the news. Soon you will be wanting to have two countries again, mark my words.

We already have two countries: Waffle House Land and No Waffle House Land. All we need is 2 currencies.

I am quite fond of the House of Waffle. The Waffle family has ruled benevolently for generations.

That being said, Castle White has its advantages to. It's too bad we must choose one or 'tuther, and ne'er the twain shall meet....

The next war will likely be Castle White vs. the House of Waffle. The Burgermeister of Castle White is rather steamed these days.

I went with some boy scouts and my son to White Castle. I was able to eat two of them mini burgers without vomiting, at least not inside. Have not been back. Minimum standard: Steak n Sheak.

Like Hitler. So misunderstood. The poor guy just wanted to make Germany great again, but all those mean Western Allies just couldn't tolerate someone who thought differently.

The courts unrigged Pennsylvania, so naturally Republicans want to un-unrig it by impeaching judges. Bastards.

Toomey calls for 'conversation' about impeaching state Supreme Court justices
Pennsylvania Sen. Pat Toomey (R) called for a "conversation" about impeaching state Supreme Court justices over their new congressional map, which both parties say will benefit Democrats.

At a press conference, Toomey said it was "inevitable" that state lawmakers would consider impeachment over the redrawing of the state's new congressional maps, which he called a "power grab" by state Democrats.

"Look, I think it's inevitable that that conversation's going to take place," Toomey said. "I think state House members and state senators are going to be speaking amongst themselves and their constituents, and the fundamental question is does this blatant, unconstitutional, partisan power grab that undermines our electoral process, does that rise to the level of impeachment?"

The new map released this week redraws congressional boundaries, throwing out a map written by Republicans that gerrymandered lines to benefit their party. Ten of the state's 13 districts are now held by Republicans.

You need an independent Electoral Commission.

That's what civilised countries use. :tea:
