French legislative elections, 2017

Post by Svartalf » Mon Jun 12, 2017 1:30 pm

General De Gaulle used to say that French folk are calves, he was wrong, they are sheeple.

Right after electing that unnameable wretch macron president, they are about to grant him a 3/4 majority in the National Assembly, no serious opposition, the traditional right maginalized, the fascists won't even get enough reps to form a proper political group in the assembly, and the left fragmented into bits too small to count.

I'm disgusted.

The thing that was interesting in the class was every time the professor said ‘Al Qaeda’ his shoulders went up, But you know, it is that you don’t say ‘America’ with an intensity, you don’t say ‘England’ with the intensity. You don’t say ‘the army’ with the intensity,” she continued. “... But you say these names [Al Qaeda] because you want that word to carry weight. You want it to be something.” - Ilhan Omar

Svarty, it seems that there are no French politicians you like at all... ;)

Fair enough too, I'm a bit the same about Oz politicians. Their main preoccupation is the trough, with a side serve of enjoyable school boy fights with the opposition...

I don't know, but politicians lie and make false promises and serve themselves rather than those whom they are supposed to represent and I hate their guts.

Not the dead ones. So we can conclude that dead politicians are good politicians. Does anyone have a suggestion about how we might go about increasing the number of good politicians?

a nice revolution might do the trick... problem is that there might be a backlash afterwards... I can only remember how Robespierre and Fouquier-Tinville ended at the end of the Reign of Terror...
