Controlling borders is not maintaining useless standing armies. The EU is developing its own defence force and is going to leave NATO leaving the UK/USA to bash any countries that do not fit in to the UK/USA mindset.

Of course Russia is not going to disarm. With Trump in charge it would the last thing they would do. Do you think Russia is just going to roll into Europe or have you had an extra bowl of NATO propaganda? Crimea was always Russian. Ukraine stole it. Was it any worse than what the Americans did in "their on backyard" in the 50's and 60's?

Russia reannexing the Crimea, with which it has no land border, was an acto of war and bullying plain and simple... and as for the NATO propaganda, with Putin in charge, I'mm not sure it's far off mark.

Khrushchev did give it on loan. and the people of the Krim have no problems with its annexation. America pinched a huge bit of Mexico by force and refused to give it back.
