Well, Hillary is almost Republican. She just wants to kill babies so there's that. Labels are for you to define.

Is that some kind explanation for the Democrats failure to get Biden's agenda through? The leadership could not deal with their own Republicans, but they want to ask us to change real American minds?

--get fucked, oh and BTW, the support is already there! You don't need them.

The failure was due to filibuster. This is mostly a 1900s invention. It's complicared. But 40 senators can just leave town thursday and they are able to block all. No vote needed.

The republicans would only need to show up once or twice for the budget vote to get $ to the home state. Otherwise, they can stay home 4 years.

You're full of excuses for these people Tero. People in our party consistently vote against our objectives. That's a leadership problem. --own the party or fuck off and let other leaders step-up

Or, wait a few months, you'll lose everything --what little you had-- and you can get back to blaming those mean o'le Republicans for just being so much better at this, and obviously more advantaged...yada, yada, yada...

The excuse is very good. Thanks to filibuster, and McCain, Trump only passed one taxcut and nothing else of meaning.

I used Obamacare for 4 Trump years.

Reality. It's going to be like this (and was like this for a long time) all except the 9-11 year, for the next 30 years. Only the most essential repairs and gov't bailouts of corporations will need any effort to cooperate. The abortion thing was mainly again due to the goofy senate. It has its own rules which someone like McConnel can manipulate. McConnel is worse than Trump at derailing democracy, he just did it legally.

It's not complete failure. We saved NATO. And maybe Ukraine.

Sure, and other Democrats note that in the grand scheme of things abortion rights aren't all that. I say they're crazy. There's no reality where we go backward from here to reach a utopian moral capitalism, much less some kind of socialism.

Where they keep failing is important.

It was not exactly 76 where the Republican party started to go "Reagan." It was more like mid 60s. They wanted to undo all the social changes following the depression, any benefits like social security and medicare. The civil rights thing just annoyed them even more.

The evangelicals were then captured in the late 70s to get the full Reagan Teaparty small govt thing.
I think one could argue that the desegregation of public schools was the start of it. The Repugs vision of a future as glorious as the past (Make America Great Again) seems to yearn for that time when women and black folks knew their place and didn't complain about it - or if they did a swift backhander or a billy club put them right.

Senate Democrats' attempt to codify Roe v. Wade into federal law failed Wednesday with Manchin as the lone Democrat to join every Republican to tank the bill
--the Republicans have a real party.

Yeah, yeah, it wouldn't have made it anyway, so you can keep missing the point.

The democrats were able to hold back trump due to the large turnout 2018. The same thing will happen now for Republicans, Biden will do absolutely nothing for 2 years. Maybe a little more help to Ukraine, but that's it. Only a huge turnout due to abortion can prevent Republicans taking the senate.
