I had a very similar experience two weeks ago. I was riding my bike on a public dirt road that is only allowed for pedestrians, bikes and "agricultural traffic". Suddenly, a BMW comes dashing towards me from behind me. I was a bit surprised and didn't react immediately. Also, with the bumpy path and me going quite fast (for a bike) I making a sudden stop, especially with the fast car behind was no good idea. So it took me maybe a hundred metres to come to a stop and clear the path. The guy in the car stops besides me, unwinds his window and screams at me why I didn't clear the road earlier. I answered back with a question, questioning him why he even was on the path as he was not driving a tractor or any other kind of agricultural machinery. Then he goes on a tirade about why I didn't know him and that he is an important person because he is the president of some farmers association of [insert name of a small village with a few thousand inhabitants only], so he has every right to use that road and so on.

I later saw his car parked at a farm that is also accessible via a normal road. He only took the dirt road as a short-cut for saving two minutes or because he feels importing doing that or I don't know.
