My number two is Syria. Even though the local cultures are only slightly different to each other, they manage lively and vibrant interaction.

Rumanians, Polish, Estonians, Pakistani, ,Nigerians , English and Scots all live within 300m of my house and their children all play together, This area used to be a half deserted,sink estate now It's full of families, most working. The gardens are have flowers and barbecues in them, instead of track suited Chavs with Bull-terriers We have families with toy dogs

Would not surprise me. They are a law unto themselves. Plenty of big crime going on in the Irish countryside. Stealing major machinery or animals. Knackers are behind it.

In Oz, knackers is both a slang term for bollocks, and a diminutive form of knackery, where horses are slaughtered for dog meat...

(when I was a kid, i used to go with dad to the local knackery, where he would by a huge chunk of horse meat to feed our dog. I was always fascinated by the fact that the fresh meat was still twitching. That lead me to a university career in zoology, where I enjoyed dissecting a vast array of organisms.
