Simple response. Is still here to a degree, but is decreasing, as shown at least by the increasing proportion of people happy to accept gay marriage...

Certainly in Oz, the prevalence of homophobia amongst those in their twenties and thirties is much less than amongst old farts like me...

We have pockets of homophobia mainly due to the last remnants of religion but apart from that nobody blinks an eye when gays and lesbians behave normally in public.
