It's creeping into everything. Now it's incorrect to criticise Israel at all. And you can't say abbos or injuns. But don't imagine that it's going to stop there. What will be incorrect in 20 years time that's ok now? You need a bit of insight, because it's not always obvious what will become taboo.

My guess is that number 1 will be " Old". It's perfectly ok now.

I reckon another politically correct change will be animals. It will be demeaning to call them animals, you'll have to say fellow creatures.
I was reprimanded a while ago for using the expression "bitching". Apparently it's sexist and demeans women.

Some schools pupils are already being urged to refer to boys & girls as "purple penguins", otherwise the Heinz 56 varieties of genders might be offended.
I've been 'corrected' several times by 'folk' in administrative positions; I MUST refer to my "partner". My 'husband/wife' is now verboten!
Yes, it is a form of control. In the past language evolved naturally, gradually over centuries by popular usage. Now our lords & masters mandate & regulate it from above using coercion.

Language always moved from the upper classes downwards. I wouldn't call it PC since that would involve a conspiracy of neo-marxists or something which ain't there. There isn't a PC culture but there is a top tier, that 1% of neo-liberals, presenting what is acceptable or not to the middle class plebs....and they are trying to be fair despite the loaded dice their own way regarding mega-wealth. That is where the new fangled terminology is stemming from and it wouldn't stop only change sligltly with the demise of the 1% since it is a natural feature of language that linguistic norms are transferred from high status human apes to the betas and losers below..

What it boils down to, is that there is a culture among the press of "we must never offend a minority".
You can say what you like to offend a majority, but not a minority.

Hence, you hear cunt and prick and fuck used all the time, when they used to be absolutely forbidden. You couldn't even say bloody in public, when I was growing up.
Now these things are ok, because they're not particular to a minority. If they give offence, it's to the majority, and usually, the kind that end up running the show.

But now, you can't say cripple, or mongol, or queer or pakki, even though they were not originally insults.
Once a few people CHOOSE to be offended, it becomes politically incorrect. Even if the majority of that particular minority don't care one way or the other.

The funny thing is, that when I was a kid, we used to use Jew as an insult. Not to Jews, but to other kids who wouldn't spend their money. That was down to Fagin, in Oliver Twist, or that kind of stereotype. But there's no replacement word for Jew, so it can't become taboo.
