Trump is a bit of an enigma. He's far too intelligent to believe his own bullshit, and his politics previous to this election have been centrist, perhaps even a bit left leaning on social issues. Whether this new incarnation is an actual change or simple demagoguery is unknown. Unfortunately the only way to find out is to elect him. He could turn out to be a pragmatic leader, or he could be an unmitigated disaster. I think we should err on the side of caution and keep him far away from the levers of power.

It's interesting that on the whole the US seems to be be moving slowly to the left as its getting young and more multicultural (ie less white) while in the UK we are generally moving to the right because we are getting so old. Those left behind on both wings really don't like it hence we get nutters like Trump and Corbyn

There is something I do not quite understand about this lets say phenomena. Why some people feel the need to do this? Go to venues, wave banners, take pics with mobile, act like idiots .. I mean if they want to vote for Mr Trump they can just vote for him without this circus.
