Wales most 'murderous' places revealed - as the number of killings grows

The number of murders and manslaughters in Wales rose significantly last year.

Latest crime figures show the number of murders and manslaughters doubled while the number of offences of attempted murder or conspiracy to murder rose by two thirds.

Home Office figures show there were 30 homicides - defined as including both murder and manslaughter - and 18 cases of attempted murder in Wales in the 12 months up to and including September 2015.

These offences are collectively known as “murderous crimes”.

Boston in Lincolnshire is the most murderous place in England and Wales.

New crime figures from the Home Office have revealed the number of cases of homicide, attempted murder and conspiracy to murder for the 12 months up to and including September 2015.

In Boston there were two homicides and eight attempted murders with the combined figure coming at a rate of 15 murderous crimes for every 100,000 people living in the area.

This was the highest rate for any area in England and Wales and makes Boston the most murderous place in the country.
