NZ also drives on the left, which I was very thankful for when we were there a few years back, and we hired a car. No way could I drive in the US. Both my boys have been there and done that driving on the right thing, but they're young enough to have flexible minds...

Never had any problem switching Jim. I drove in Scotland and Ireland without any problem. If the steering is on the right side you cant make any mistake. Taking a Dutch car to Britain did have problems.

An Adelaide Hills man has pleaded guilty to dozens of firearms offences after police seized more than 200 weapons — including an assault rifle — from his rural property.

The 55-year-old, whom the ABC has chosen not to name for legal reasons, pleaded guilty in the Adelaide Magistrates Court to 87 charges, including possessing unregistered firearms and firearms without a licence, as well as manufacturing a firearm.

At the time, police said they found more than 200 weapons at his Adelaide Hills property, including an assault rifle similar to one used in a mass shooting in the United States, a machine gun, throwing knifes, daggers and bayonets.

Officers also allegedly seized more than 200 kilograms of ammunition from the house — a lot of it military ammunition.

Police previously said the weapons were uncovered during a three-day search of the rural property with some weapons located in hidden rooms and a roof cavity.

It is also alleged the man kept a pistol in his bedside table.

At the time, Superintendent Stephen Howard from SA Police's firearms branch said the find was "disturbing and shocking".

"The SKS is a firearm that's made for war, it's purely designed for killing people," he said.

"I'm not saying this person would be inclined to do something like that but it's disturbing that these types of weapons are unlawfully in the community."

At the time, he also said the assault rifle had a bayonet that could be folded under the barrel of the firearm to be used for hand-to-hand combat.
