Said Peter...what you're requesting just isn't my bag
Said Daemon, who's sorry too, but y'see we didn't have no choice
And our hands they are many and we'd be of one voice
We've come all the way from Wigan to get up and state
Our case for survival before it's too late
Turn stone to bread, said Daemon Duncetan
Turn stone to bread right away...

Re: Straya!
Macdoc will get a very rude surprise when he discovers that the ground he stands on does nor exist, but it's not too late for any other North American with intentions to come down here to reconsider. Reconsider, people! Don't come down here. We don't exist. Maybe dropbears do, but that is all. STFU, Macdoc. Unfortunately we can't send you back to where you came from, but the least you can do is to convince the other idiots that Australia does not exist! You're supposed to be on our side now.

Re: Straya!
maybe I don't consider your side ...our side. I have a number of clients and friends with partial roots in both countries and some are considering making it permanent....they will of course avoid your parched corner quite happily. Maybe the indigenes should you back ....first fleet be damned.

Macdoc, don't try to turn this into a serious discussion. If you think that was my intent, read this post once more. Pay particular attention to the mention of non-existing ground and dropbears.

People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.
But those letters are not silent.
They're just waiting their turn.

Jayden Burleigh died from a redback bite in 2016.Although there are recorded cases of deaths from redback bites, none have occurred since the development of antivenom in 1956.
There are dozens of redbacks in my garden. They are quite small. Here is one of them. Matchbox for scale (and punning).
Occasionally I find one in the mailbox too.

But, he's a Liberal Party guy, so fuck him and the horse he rode into town on...
Quite an unusual move by an opposition leader before an election...WA Liberal leader Zak Kirkup has admitted he does not expect to become premier after the March state election, and fears his party could be decimated by a Labor landslide.
In a highly unusual move by a party leader just two weeks out from an election, Mr Kirkup said he did not expect to win and feared the Liberals could be reduced to a single digit Opposition in terms of seat numbers.
"I have to be real with the people of Western Australia, and they are telling me that they expect Mark McGowan will still be Premier," Mr Kirkup said.
Political commentator Peter Kennedy described Mr Kirkup's comments as "extraordinary".
"This is unprecedented for the leader of any major party to hoist up the white flag before polling day," he said.
"Tradition is to try to win every vote before polling day, even if you know that you are going to be behind."
Mr Kennedy said the Liberals had nothing to lose, although the move might further damage morale among candidates, especially those in marginal seats.
"I don't think it could backfire, the Liberals' stocks have never been so low and they could hardly get lower," he said.
"It could have an effect on morale in marginal seats, but … I think the morale of Liberal candidates would have been wavering anyway."
But, he's a Liberal Party guy, so fuck him and the horse he rode into town on...
