Nothing to do but get out a canoe or kayak and enjoy it while it lasts

People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.
But those letters are not silent.
They're just waiting their turn.

I love the cold anyway. Perfect time for canoeing! Rum, what's the temp there now

Its mild for early December - about 48F here.
As the day has gone on the true extent of the floods are apparent. Pretty devastating.

My girlfriend grew up in Cockermouth and she has been a bit upset as they have been hit hard again. Businesses there still hadn't recovered from the last round of flooding, goodness knows how they're going to survive this one.
100% verifiable facts or your money back. Anti-fascist. Enemy of woo - theistic or otherwise. Cloth is not an antiviral. Imagination and fantasy is no substitute for tangible reality. Wishing doesn't make it real.

We have both! However while I like warm power I kinda hate Bovril.Brian Peacock wrote:Have got power and bovril Rum?
Lots of people with no power in the area though.
We had major floods ten years ago and new defences were built which raised existing ones by a further nine feet. They weren't enough.
We had just moved up here when the floods of 2005 happened. After them there was lots of energy, frantic work and busy cleaning up.
When I went out this morning with my dogs our small city just seemed to be in a state of silent shock.

Glad to hear you've missed the worst of it mate. Stay dry, and remember that Bovril should only be deployed in an absolute emergency - like an alien invasion or Winston Churchill rising from the grave - it is the beverage of last resort.
