Blackout fears as blaze shuts down power station
A large fire forced a power station to shut down last night, increasing the risk of blackouts this winter.
The blaze at Didcot B, which produces enough electricity to power a million homes, began in one of the cooling towers. Twenty fire engines were called to the scene, as well as officers from Thames Valley police and the National Police Air Service.
