Asad. I think.
The other lot have blown it. Maybe they never had a chance.

While there is a market for shit, there will be assholes to supply it.

Shell
Outside the ordered universe is that amorphous blight of nethermost confusion which blasphemes and bubbles at the center of all infinity—the boundless daemon sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes.
Code: Select all
// Replaces with spaces the braces in cases where braces in places cause stasis
$str = str_replace(array("\{","\}")," ",$str);

I don't think Syria is oil-rich. It does have some oil and gas, but it only produces one twentieth of what Kuwait produces, and doesn't export any gas.
It's not enough to worry Shell.

No, but it is a key strategic target for the wes in a theoretical strategy to further 'stabilize' the region. It cuts both ways. Put simply it's a key region of importance.

As long as they are busy killing each other, we all win.

Not really, no. The people everywhere lose.Tyrannical wrote:As long as they are busy killing each other, we all win.Făkünamę wrote:No, but it is a key strategic target for the wes in a theoretical strategy to further 'stabilize' the region. A constant running sore of human misery, with no clear-cut end in sight...

Arms industry will win.

What will the world be like after its ruler is removed?

The rebels in Syria were making great gains early on. Assad's mob seemed to be pretty incompetent. Then Iran sent a big contingent of its Republican Guard to help Assad. Things turned to custard for the rebels and they now have a real uphill battle.

I think I recall reading that the US.A just openly declared that they are supporting the Syrian rebels? That is effectively the same as declaring open war, with the added benefit of not having to suffer any 'population morale' crash - if their spin doctors are up to the task.

Yeh. I read that. I took it as a sure sign that they have no chance. A bit like our Prime Minister giving a minister his ''full support'', during a scandal.Făkünamę wrote:I think I recall reading that the US.A just openly declared that they are supporting the Syrian rebels? It's difficult to call one way or the other. If Russia decides to back the Syrian government (which I would do if I was 'them'), then the 'rebels' will lose. Russia is not engaged in maintaining multiple occupational forces. The US of eh is.
IMHO, it's Russia's move. One they ought to make. IMHO.

no one wins in this sort of debacle. now, if arabia were to erupt and the people attempt to rid themselves of the saud usurpers...
