Marxists in the classroom aren't a fiction

Post by Seth » Sun Dec 23, 2012 12:23 am

For those of you who doubt that the uber-left hard-line Marxist terrorists are, have been and intend to infiltrate our schools, there's this from the murderous William Ayers...who ought to be in prison or executed 30 years ago.
Bill Ayers: The Left Must Utilize Its ‘Absolute Access’ to America’s Classrooms

Posted on December 21, 2012 at 9:50pm by Jason Howerton

Bill Ayers Says the Lefts Power Lies in Schools, Neighborhoods and Workplaces
schools and neighborhoods will help them shape the future of America.

Bill Ayers, former domestic terrorist-turned university professor, reemerged earlier this month to explain how the Left’s access to schools and neighborhoods will help them shape the future of America. Speaking at a New York University “Change the Stakes” meeting on Dec. 4, he said the Left must utilize the existing “movements on the ground.”

In the video, obtained by EAGnews.org, Ayers also first blasts conservatives for portraying President Barack Obama as a “secret Muslim” and a “secret sociopath,” running around with “terrorists and Arabs.” He lamented the fact that many liberals felt like Obama was “winking” at them while he portrayed himself as a compromising moderate – but Obama ended up disappointing the far left, according to Ayers.

“The same people, and I’m sure some of us in this room, are saying, ‘But the second term he’ll be free,’” he said. “Forget about it. That’s not where change comes from.”

“If we want change to come, we would do well not to look at the sites of power we have no access to; the White House, the Congress, the Pentagon,” Ayers added. “We have absolute access to the community, the school, the neighborhood, the street, the classroom, the workplace, the shop, the farm.”

“Why are we ignoring that and saying, ‘I hope Obama makes peace’?” he asked. “Forget about it. He’s not going to do anything if you don’t do something.”

“So, our job is movement building, [Obama's] job is governance and sitting in a chair of empire.”

Ayers first found fame for his involvement in plots to set off explosives at the U.S. Capitol, the Pentagon, a police station, two Army recruiting stations and a New York judge’s home while his family slept inside. He is the main founder and leader of the now-defunct radical group, The Weather Underground.

As TheBlaze’s Tiffany Gabbay previously reported: “He is also the man who happened to help launch an ambitious community organizer’s political career into the stratosphere right from his apartment on Chicago’s South Side.” His name was Barack Obama.

Is there any evidence to suggest that communists have actually succeeded in filling our schools with Marxists? I mean to a greater degree than some other groups have succeeded in filling them with, say. Christo-fascist bible-based literalistic YEC folk?
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

The lumpen proletariat elected Barack Obama twice, didn't they? That's proof absolute.

But yes, there's ample evidence of Marxist influences in our schools, as Ayers himself suggests. You just have to look for it. Google "social justice education in schools" for a start.
Radical Math

Social justice academies have sprung up in Chicago, Boston, New York, Los Angeles, and Chapel Hill, North Carolina ,and also in Catholic girls’ schools in Cincinnati and Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. More are in the works, but it’s still a small sample. However, it isn’t necessary to have a social justice academy to have social justice education.

In New York City this spring, as reported by Sol Stern of the City Journal (RadicalMath: “Social justice” teachers propagandize while Chancellor Klein looks the other way,” http://www.city-journal.org/html/eon2007-05-11ss.html), “[O]ver 400 high school math teachers and education professors gathered in Brooklyn for a three-day conference, titled ‘Creating Balance in an Unjust World: Math Education and Social Justice.’”

At the conference, Stern writes, math teachers “proudly demonstrated how they used classroom projects to train students in seeing social problems from a radical anticapitalist perspective”—paid for with a $3,000 grant from the city’s Department of Education.

Teachers who wish to put a Marxist spin on math lessons can utilize prepackaged lesson plans available on the Internet from RadicalMath (http://www.radicalmath.org/index2.php), “a resource for educators interested in integrating issues of social and economic justice into math classes and curriculum.” The site boasts “over 700 lesson plans, and charts, graphs, data sets, maps, books, and websites to help you bring these issues into your classroom.” How anyone would verify the “information” presented in these lesson plans is not explained.

Examine it for yourself. Just added to the website on September 20, “Revealing Racist Roots” is 27 pages in English and Spanish on “The Three R’s for Teaching about the Jena 6”—taking off on an alleged racist incident in Jena, Louisiana, which only hit the news this summer. But why wait for all the facts to come in before whipping up a batch of lesson plans?

The plans are the work of TAG, the Network of Teacher Activist Groups, consisting of the New York Collective of Radical Educators (http://www.nycore.org), Teachers for Social Justice, Chicago (http://www.teachersforjustice.org), and Teachers 4 Social Justice, San Francisco (http://www.t4sj.org). They describe the Jena incident in lurid, loaded terms—“A Modern Day Lynching” (in which no one was actually lynched), “Jim Crow being found alive and well in the South,” and “lynching as a tool of genocide” (surely not a very efficient tool), and so on. The radical educators also throw in “cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed” and the prosecution of the O. J. Simpson case as examples of “pervasive” injustice.

Here you will find lessons in “media literacy,” the “hip-hop response” to the Jena case, “self-esteem,” “social action,” and, finally, a “detailed mathematics unit” featuring such exercises as “find the probability of randomly selecting an all-white jury in Jena, which is 85.6% white.”

How many teachers are using this resource? According to the website, “RadicalMath.org has had 1,100,422 page visits since May 2006!!!” They can’t all be from reporters who had to see it to believe it.

I'm working on it. Still working for the capitalists, but I may hit the schools yet. We will only do Marxist chemistry. Uranium is the opiate of the masses.

Quick, someone fetch Seth's fainting couch and clutching pearls. He's run away from another debate to start yet another troll fail.

You have already demonstrated your hard left, Stalinist ideology and revealed yourself as a Soviet sleeper agent, Seth. We, the freedom loving citizens of the world, reject your support for the nefarious plan to place armed defence in the hands of state appointed guards and will continue to hold THE CONSTITUTION sacred.

America is becoming communist these days. The main sign a country has gone commie is it can no longer feed itself and needs to ask the rest of the world for help. That'll come in the next year or two. And the standard of porn goes down too. Already happening.

But surely, the whole concept of educating the unwashed masses is a Marxist plot! Surely, only the children of the wealthy, landed and Harvard-educated need ever be taught anything less rudimentary than how to use a spade or (for the more gifted) a telephone switchboard? :tea:

Why are you so mean to Seth? He has REASONS AND SACRED TEXTS to explain his nutbaggery. And HE hasn't personally participated in any shooting massacres although he repeatedly does violence to logic. Cue Seth entrance stage right clutching pearls..........
