So There's a White Supremacist Rally Happening Near Me

So I just learned that there is a white supremacist rally happening in my city this weekend. Apparently it is organized by the local white supremacy club and is a yearly event, complete with StormFront logos. They are going to be marching through the city streets. Never knew there were so many white supremacists that lived around me.

In the UK, every time any nationalist group/party organise a significant event, the Anti-Nazi League organise a counter-rally.

There was one of these nearby when I was in undergrad in Mississippi, no less. The people who showed up to jeer outnumbered the KKK members by at least 3 to 1.

One of my favorite memories was about killing one of these rallies. Where I lived for a short time in Sunland-Tujunga,which was/is one of the hot-beds of neo nazi groups in califronia and the states in general, we (myself, and basically the commune me and my guy at the time lived in, and friends of, totalling about 10 people) saw flyers being passed around and decided to do a counter-protest. We were scared shitless but we stayed up all night making lame signs like "Unity not conformity" and the like.

We showed up the next day an hour or so before their protest was supposed to start, all of us dressed in black hoodies and most of us wearing 20 holes, not realizing that we looked quite a bit like sharps (violent anti-neo-nazis) but all of us at the time were actually pacifists. We stood there in a group with our signs and car after car pulled up...slowed down and drove away, a few times a van full of people. Over a couple hours this happened pretty consistently with at least a couple hundred people, with about 5 or 6 still deciding to go through. After a bit speakers were taken down and around the same time camera crews from local news started showing up and we pulled up our bandanas to hide our faces (you might consider it cowardly, but I wasn't quite ready to get murdered at the grocery store).

The night went on and we realized that somehow we completely ruined a white supremacist rally and we felt pretty happy. Of course we knew they would just find another park another week but at least that weekend we did something good and it felt pretty nice

Neo-Nazis aren't the only white supremacists. Not all white supremacists are violently anti-semite. Some white supremacists feel that Jews make natural allies because of their shared Islamophobia. Not that all Jews are Islamophobe, of course, but Islamophobia is probably more prevalent among Jews then among the eneral public.

Geert Wilders and his supporters aren't. In fact many European racist groups aren't anti-Semetic. Anti-Semitism is really bad for the public image of a group because of WWII. Just hating Muslims is safer.

I'm not aware of all the details of white supremacist ideology. I'd rather not wade through the refuse at stormfront.
