The escalating crisis in Egypt could become a defining moment for Sarah Palin. Rioters have taken over the streets, top presidential cabinet members have fled the country and numerous reports of Christians having their phone and internet services cut off have reached America. The thirty-year rein of Hosni Mubarak may be finally reaching an end.

Except it's not just christians, it's the whole country.

Another aspect that should be taken into account is that radical elements in the United States are interpreting this uprising as a teachable moment. On message boards, social networking sites and the web pages of leftwing groups across the nation, young Americans are voicing interest in similar riots taking place on our very soil. Socialists, liberals and eco-terrorists are fully behind the violence in Egypt. Their talk of a coup d’etat in the U.S. is dangerous, possibly treasonous, and threatens our greatest traditions of moral primacy.

Really? The (alleged) gun-hating (alleged) socialists who (allegedly) control the country right now are cheering for a violent coup against themselves?

And calling for Palin to push for invading Egypt is not a "teaching moment", "fully behind" escalating the violence in Egypt?

The oil thing aside, and the miscalculation and errors over Iraq aside, Egypt is a whole new ball-game; there was some international suuport and momentum for the US in those days, based on the events in NY, Saddam's recent past, and the previous gulf war. None of those factors operate now; it would be pure leftist fantasy to even suggest the possibility, even to the most hawkish republicans...

I just don't know. I can't imagine what horrors Palin would come up with if she was prez (which admittedly is HIGHLY unlikely). Do you fully grasp the concept of 'American Exceptionalism'? There's some seriously scary shit attached to that ideology.
