Indeed. Next week will probably be a very safe time, if only because of an overwhelming security presence. But then I'm not the one going there ...

You know what, I was actually considering going there this week, but postponed it for next week. Had I flown today, I would have been pretty close, same airport, same arrival hall, 10 to 6 Moscow time. Such stuff started happening at places I frequent, I use the metro a great deal too, so this gives me some shivers, gotta say.

I made it safely, however, they have not enhanced the security at all, there are guys standing around who seem useless, I reckon they must install more detectors and use dogs.

Don't worry. Terrorism is just a scam drummed up by the Bush administration to lie us into wars of choice around the world in order to steal oil and prop up petty dictators to do our nefarious bidding. This thing in Russia was just part of that overall farce. There is no real danger, and your chances of getting hurt in a terrorist attack are less than that of getting in a car accident, so there's nothing to worry about. All the security that a country like the US does is just overblown invasions of privacy meant to make us "feel" safe without us actually being any safer - so, just be glad Moscow doesn't engage in that farcical exercise.
