Sarah Palin makes gaffe, saying North Korea is US ally

Former Alaskan governor and potential 2012 presidential contender Sarah Palin has made a gaffe on a radio show by saying North Korea is a US ally.

Answering questions from host Glenn Beck she said, "Obviously, we've got to stand with our North Korean allies."

Corrected by Mr Beck, she replied: "Yeah. And we're also bound by prudence to stand with our South Korean allies, yes."

Ms Palin says she is deciding whether to run for president in 2012.

Her slip of the tongue over North Korea will provide more ammunition for critics who say she doesn't have sufficient knowledge or experience for high office.

Former First Lady Barbara Bush recently said that Ms Palin should "stay in Alaska" rather than run for president.

The conservative US website The Weekly Standard came to Ms Palin's defence, pointing out that "she correctly identified North Korea as our enemy literally eight seconds before the mix-up".

well, yes, cos all the other american presidents have really been on the ball with political knowledge haven't they?? haha. Bush? Remember Reagan?? hahah

Bush had a similar moment when put on the spot over who was the President of Pakistan.

And he turned out ok.

I also think she's great and I hope she wins the Presidency of the United States.

Obama has utterly failed the liberal media's objective to turn the US into a dystopian theocratic 3rd world dictatorship. I think Palin could do much better in that regard.
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."
