Strange. The reason they were always exempt before is that they are private members clubs and could choose to allow whichever members they liked. The fact that it was only men they allowed was ancillary. I find it disturbing that the government is interfering with the right of private clubs to choose their own membership. What about women only aerobics classes? Presumably men will now be allowed to join those?
