The government is seeking to improve its image before the March election, with a planned overhaul of election funding, outlined yesterday, and a proposal to strengthen whistleblower protection after years of inaction.
In measures to be announced today, the government will allow whistleblowers to seek civil damages for any reprisals against them and extend legislative protection to parliamentary and electoral staff, along with contractors of public authorities.
