RIRA promise attack on capitalist system
RIRA promise attack on capitalist system
Can't find a link to the story, but the RIRA had an interview a few days ago with The Guardian in which they vowed to launch an attack on bankers/capitalism. It all seems very marxist, but they don't distinguish 'victims' of the economy so it's all rather inclusive to British citizens too. I think it's a ploy to encourage sympathy amongst working class Brits.

You're right Rum, but such an expression of anti-capitalism during a British government of austerity is going to hit chords with people.

No it won't. It'll be perceived as exactly what it is: A group of murderous thugs with almost no popular support trying to get attention.Lozzer wrote:You're right Rum, but such an expression of anti-capitalism during a British government of austerity is going to hit chords with people.

Though I think that unrest is almost certain to develop, especially after the cuts which will be announced on 20th October as part of the 'comprehensive spending review'. With greater poverty will almost certainly come more crime and at least some disorder too.
The plans being made at local government level in anticipation(I know because I have contributed to those plans in my job) are for over expenditure to drop between 25 and 30% over three years.
That's never been done before. Its doesn't need to be done either. The Tories are being opportunistic and deliberately piggy backing on the need for at least some austerity with there own political agenda of 'smaller government'.
