Road rage killer Kenneth Noye has failed in his bid to have the minimum term he must serve for murder reduced.

Noye, 63, was jailed for life at the Old Bailey in 2000 for the stabbing of 21-year-old Stephen Cameron on the M25 at Swanley in Kent in 1996.

Does adding 'road rage' before 'killer' make a difference?

He killed because of whatever reasons he had, but basically, living in our world caused him to murder. I think that should be the main consideration when deciding what sort of sentence. In prison, hopefully, they can keep him from killing again. And hey, if he does kill in there, it's just a dirty criminal!

You're missing the wider context, he was an all round career-criminal scumbag, and generally hugely unpleasant human being.


Think of it as like the Kray twins, they were technically only convicted of the one murder, but their sentence in reality covered a whole lot more.

No need of the wider context. He needs to be tossed out of society until HE can satisfy US that he has the requisite manners. I think my previous post was confused by a bit of a leak - my hate for the prison systems leaked out.

I didn't know that a majority (11-1) of jurors could amount to a conviction. When I served on a jury here, it had to be unanimous.

There were a minority of the members who would have found guilty, too...I was always a bit bothered that their objections were not heard by more people. I guess though, if they had really been convinced, they would have held their ground (I know I would have).

Interesting thing about the jurors, though...I think it is a bit more honest than the system here in Canada.
