Wait for it, wait for it...

Post by cowiz » Wed May 12, 2010 7:39 pm

The terrible crash in Tripoli killing over 100 has one survivor, a child of around 10

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/8679019.stm

How long until the religious start blathering about it being a miracle, and ignoring the deaths of the others? I give it until tomorrow before something pops up.
It's a piece of piss to be cowiz, but it's not cowiz to be a piece of piss. Or something like that.

(2) But one child survived with only third-degree burns.
(3) Therefore, God exists.

I was just watching this story on Sky news, and they called it a "miricle" my thought was "How long until the religious start blathering about it being a miracle?"
At the same time I clicked on this link, wondering what the thread is about, and HEY PRESTO!
That's more that just a coincidence. God wanted me to hear about how great he is by saving that boy! :praise:

I like that. It's catchy... :eddy:

It was of course reported in the news here as a "miracle", but I suspect we have a word here whose meaning has changed. Many people, and most media outlets, use it to decribe an event that is rare or improbable, as well as being fortunate. It is gradually losing its original religious connotations...
