The Tea Partiers are Weird, but this is a revolting question

"There aren't a lot of black men at these rallies - have you ever felt uncomfortable?"
As if black men are only comfortable if there are other black men around for protection. WTF???

Seems like a fair question. Tea baggers are suspected of being racists.

Re: The Tea Partiers are Weird, but this is a revolting ques
From what I've seen, there is no evidence of Tea Partiers having any more of a racist complement than the general population. There have been self-serving allegations, but not much in the way of proof.Martok wrote:Seems like a fair question. Tea baggers are suspected of being racists.
And, there is proof that opponents of the tea partiers have plotted to attend rallies, pose as tea partiers, and shout racist comments.

There is evidence of such a thing? Or is this a common talking point among conservatives to downplay the shouting of "ni**er" and"fa**ot" in open crowds at those whom they despise?

A friend of mine went to the first big rally last year in DC. In his report he proudly emphasized that there was hardly anyone making anything out of the fact that Obama was black.
My thoughts were, "Okaaaayy... good for the Tea Partiers... whereas I have to remind myself that he is a black man." When I look at him I see a President, a Democrat, a politician, a father/husband, etc. His race is pretty far down the list.

'Proof that they plotted'. A post on a message board saying, "Hey guys, let's go shout racist slogans at the teabaggers' rally!Martok wrote:What's the proof of this?Coito ergo sum wrote:

There is no evidence that any shouting of nigger or faggot occurred.Ameri Boi wrote:There is evidence of such a thing? Or is this a common talking point among conservatives to downplay the shouting of "ni**er" and"fa**ot" in open crowds at those whom they despise?
I love how you ask of me "is there evidence of such a thing", but do not ask the same question of those claiming they were shouted at. How come there is no audio or video of it, given the prevalence of video and audio equipment on every phone.

Harry Reid supporters egged a tea party bus - (threw eggs at the bus and the people).

And, look at the Reid supporters throwing eggs.... and then lying about it being the tea partiers who threw it at their own bus (belied by the video showing the Reid supporter holding and egg...)

It's you guys that keep saying people are making something out him being black. What would be wrong with your friend clarifying for you that nobody, or hardly anyone, referring to his race?Ian wrote:A friend of mine went to the first big rally last year in DC. So the senators whom testified that they had heard such slanders directed at them are lying?

All that site wants to do is sell tshirts. It doesn't say anything about causing trouble for the tea baggers.Coito ergo sum wrote:

I think the tea baggers can look like "morans" without any outside help.

41% of tea partiers are Democrats and Independents: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washing ... obama.html

Juan Williams, a political analyst for National Public Radio and Fox News, is the author of several books, including "Enough" (Crown, 2006) and "Thurgood Marshall: American Revolutionary" (Three Rivers Press, 2000). NPR - http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000142 ... 83252.htmlTea party activists are surprisingly mainstream when it comes to their grievances about politics. They fit right in with most American voters who tell pollsters the country has been headed in the wrong direction under both Presidents Bush and Obama...

So the the congresspeople and their staffers were making it all up? When was the last time you heard someone call a congressman a 'nigger' or a 'faggot' at anti-war rally, or whatever us liberals demonstrate for?Coito ergo sum wrote:From what I've seen, there is no evidence of Tea Partiers having any more of a racist complement than the general population. And instead there are supposed tea party 'opponents' infiltrated the tea partiers and posing as tea partiers?
That's the kind of stunt that Republicans like Jame's O'Keefe would pull. We have that evidence.
So please Coito, I would very much like to see the evidence of these so called tea party infiltrators you speak of.

Re: The Tea Partiers are Weird, but this is a revolting ques
The guy who founded it said so. Right on the website it said:Martok wrote:All that site wants to do is sell tshirts. It doesn't say anything about causing trouble for the tea baggers.Coito ergo sum wrote:

I think the tea baggers can look like "morans" without any outside help.
Jason Levin, the founder of the site, a teacher in Oregon has been "placed on leave" from his position as a teacher for doing this. On April 14th, Portland, Oregon's KPTV Fox 12 reported that Jason Levin, a Beaverton middle school teacher, was being investigated for misconduct and breaking district and state rules in his effort to dismantle a political movement."Whenever possible, we will act on behalf of the Tea Party in ways which exaggerate their least appealing qualities (misspelled protest signs, wild claims in TV interviews, etc.) to further distance them from mainstream America and damage the public's opinion of them. We will also use the inside information that we have gained in order to disrupt and derail their plans."
"morans"?

Well, they often do look like morons, that's for sure. However, they don't look like racists or violent. They look peaceful and sincere, and they are law abiding and peaceably assemble. If there is EVIDENCE to the contrary, I'd like to see. Not liking them, thinking they are morons and hating their position on issues is no reason to lie about them.
And, one thing I've seen REPEATEDLY over the last three decades is that the left has a very "ends justify the means" mentality.... falsely accusing someone of being a racist without evidence is par for the course.
