Following the link in the "Arrest the Pope" thread to the Daily Beast, I had a dig around that site and found this abomination:

According to this journalist, men will look at the photographs of women on their Facebook friends pages. Shock horror!!! And the writer is critical of this for some unfathomable puritanical reason. Most staggeringly she seems shocked and stunned that male Facebook users are eschewing porn and viewing clothed women in natural poses. If you want to waste five minutes of your life on complete inanity and shite reporting, fill your boots and click the link.

PS -if I've not knocked one off over your Facebook photos you're doing it wrong.

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me.

But outside of concerns about older men ogling pictures of underage women, it seems that women with Facebook profiles would do well to believe that what we don’t know about our male friends’ Facebook habits won’t kill us. Still, you could be forgiven for combing over your Facebook pictures to delete any that might seem a little provocative.

On the other hand, there’s an undeniable ick factor to the idea of men getting off to pictures you posted for your friends to platonically peruse. No one wants to think of their male friends (or worse, their coworkers or bosses) projecting them into sex fantasies.

No one wants to think of that? Are you sure? And even if nobody did, it wouldn't change the fact that it happens, with or without facebook. Hey ladies, guess what, all your male friends (and some ladies too) have wanked it thinking about you, even before facebook was around

Complicating matters, Facebook is rife with pictures of very young women experimenting with ribaldry, probably unaware of how those pictures might be read by men.
