The Australian Human Rights and Equal Opportunities Commission (HREOC) contacted Encyclopedia Dramatica owner Joseph Evers, after 20 indigenous Australians complained about the article's content.

Yep. That's right. Apparently they ignore the fact that this website is offensive to everyone, everywhere. Even ignoring that, where does our Government even begin thinking it can tell people not only what they're allowed to say, but what you're allowed to do.

The fact that they forced google to remove it from their search was fucking absurd enough.

It's US based and breaking no laws there. The AU government has no jurisdiction there. They could "attempt" to block it in a China stylee when it reaches Australian territory. Would the US government let freedom of speech go, just because the Oz government don't have a sense of humour?

It's not whether it will work, it's the principle. The Government is attacking a man for a website which exists for the sole purpose of free expression, and trying to censor him.
