Where's this Chinese rocket supposed to crash down? Do I have to watch out?
It has crashed into the Indian Ocean, apparently...

Maldives apparently.

Chinese rocket debris crashes back to Earth, plunging into Indian Ocean – state media
Officials said most of the Long March 5B burned up in the atmosphere, but Nasa was critical of China’s lack of transparency over the re-entry

The remnants of China’s largest rocket have plummeted back to Earth, plunging into the Indian ocean near the Maldives, according to Chinese state media, ending days of speculation over where the debris would hit.

Most of the debris burned up in the atmosphere, it reported, citing the Chinese Manned Space Engineering office.

Parts of the 30-metre core of the Long March 5B rocket re-entered the atmosphere at 10.24am Beijing time (2.24am GMT) and landed at a location with the coordinates of longitude 72.47 degrees east and latitude 2.65 degrees north, state media cited the office as saying.

Nasa was critical of China’s lack of transparency over the rocket’s re-entry, saying spacefaring nations had a duty to minimise the risks to people and property on Earth.

“It is clear that China is failing to meet responsible standards regarding their space debris,” said Nasa administrator Bill Nelson, a former senator and astronaut who was picked for the role in March.
What a waste of money.

The only part that wouldn't have burned up in the atmosphere was it's self-contained atomic power unit, apparently. :tea:

That's the sort of crap you get when you make a politician the administrative head of a scientific institution. How the fuck would more transparency minimise the risks to people and property on Earth? The location of where the debris will come down cannot be "pinpointed" to within several square kilometres until a couple of minutes before impact.

A suggestion for China; in future, for launches that involve a first stage coming back to Earth, install some careful placed explosives in the structure of the first stage. At a safe interval after separation, boom! A multitude of small pieces on the same trajectory as an intact first stage would all burn up safely...

A high school yearbook was canceled because it had a Black Lives Matter page. Some parents complained that if the yearbook has a Black Lives Matter page, it should also have a page supporting the opposing view.

It was mainly the Dutch security service that spearheaded the breaking of the messaging app but the Anglo-Saxons will never acknowledge that.

Yeah because the Dutch press couldn't be talking the Netherlands up.

It was an international effort, initiated by the Aussies and coordinated by the US. I'm sure the Dutch news has talked up the domestic angle just as the British press talked up the involvement of the UK security services.

I've seen reports of people in red states getting vaccinated in secret while wearing disguise to avoid getting bullied by friends/family/coworkers.
