That's one of the reasons we're raising a generation of wimps!

Back in my day, kids would just roam around the vehicle, sitting or sleeping on the floor, etc. No seatbelts ever. And, mom and dad would smoke with the windows most of the way up.

Kids today....
That's supposed to be a joke, right?
Um...you needed to ask?
The fact that he did have to should tell you something about the quality of your posts.
My sense of humour, actually. I'm a Kraut, you know?

Electricity is an extremely affordable way to power a car - the average American pays less than 12 cents per kilowatt hour. If the average American drives less than 40 miles, it will cost about $1.50 a day for electricity. That's about the same annual cost as running a common household appliance. To save even more, some utility companies recommend charging overnight for off-peak rates and may even offer incentives to customers who do so.

If it's really a dollar and a half a day, that would be amazing. But, something doesn't sit right about their numbers.
They can't say it if it isn't true, or they risk far too much.

Well, that's not correct. To say GM wouldn't say it if it wasn't true is counterfactual, to say the least.

If they're lying, their competitors will prove it, and they will use it to take them down.

Not on that point. First of all, all GM needs to do is say they were relying on certain assumptions: price of electricitiy and mileage driven per day. I'm sure they took the lowest possible cost of electricity they could argue with a straight face, and made no allowance for an increase in price based on increased demand for electricicity if electric cars start selling more, etc.

I think it's weird that they don't put the calculation on there so that we can figure out a PER MILE cost to drive the vehicle. I'm sure I can do it by looking at my electric bill. I doubt their number holds up.

Fuck - auto manufacturers lie all the time - just look at their fuel economy numbers - those numbers are always better on the sticker than in reality.

Actually, they're not.
They simply don't take in to account traffic.

Hey! No fair! I said self inflicted, not as a result of the wishes of others.

Just you wait. I'll get you for this. Which wedding are you planning on attending next, Maiforpeace? :plot:

The wedding? Certainly, but that could be an act of masochism. Pluto2 will fill you in about her cousin's if you need confirmation on this.
